In general, Reolink needs Cat5 wiring or regular power wire? Also does it need a hub for storage?
This is wireless, but also takes cat5 POE with the included dongle. I have had zero issues with wireless. You can add an SD card for recordings. No hub needed, the Reolink app works for configuration, viewing and notifications.

What's this about an included dongle that allows for PoE operation?

Granted I could be thinking about a different Reolink camera because installed a few different models over a year ago, but I remember plugging the power adapter into a cat5 converter. I think its not mentioned in the listing because the converter is attached. You will notice that they include a cat5 cable in the box as they encourage you to set up your new camera plugged in first.

I did a fair amount of research on this one last night and I'm glad I did b/c it does not match my power situation.
This is a DC camera and requires a sold separately power adapter. There is no indication that this unit is PoE capable and if it is, PoE certainly would not power the floodlights. Either way, a DC power adapter is needed to plug into the power dongle attached to the camera which you can see on the specifications page for the product https://reolink.com/us/product/re...ifications

This does not have provisions for poe, reolink does make a poe version that can be identified as it does not have the 2 antennas coming out of the camera.
If you wanted to use this with poe its possible to use a 12v poe splitter/ power extractor which will have a rj45 and 5.5mm power jack to power the camera. I would not recommend going that route
There is no dongle included with this camera, what people might be referring to is the rectangle piece that has the camera inputs and the power out to the flood lights, its built In to the camera wiring and not a separate piece.
I dont know why people are saying an additional power adapter is required, all wifi reolink cameras I have come across include the required power adapters. The only situation where a power adapter is required would be when one purchases a poe camera and dose not have poe, then they would need to buy a 12v power adapter to use a poe camera with non-poe network
