Wife has been wanting the ninja ice Creami Swirl for a while now but it's like $300+ for one $160 I'll give this a try. If we don't like it it's going back to Costco.

I can buy 32 containers of ice cream or buy this thing which I have to clean, find a place to store it and then still have to spend money to buy ingredients to make my own. I'll just buy ice cream from the store. And the reviews are such a mixed bag.

Point/counterpoint (sort of) I have great nostalgia for Kohr's Bros frozen custard at the Jersey shore. Great texture, great flavors, so I can see wanting this. But each flavor would be a different set up and cleaning every time you use it, and am I really going to make a whole batch for just two people? So yeah, I guess I'm with you after all... I'll find a froyo place till I hit the shore again.

Why spend $5 on ice cream when I can spend $200 to make a worse ice cream?

True, but half the fun is making it yourself

You can whip up soft serve or frozen drinks anytime, try different flavors, and actually control the ingredients (less sugar, dairy-free, etc). Plus it's cheaper in the long run if your family eats as much ice cream as mine does

Okay, so you can buy 6 weeks worth of ice cream for the same price as this? Seems like a no brainer to me...

I can see how you feel that way. We bought an ice cream maker years ago from Williams Sonoma with a compressor built in, so it kind of works the same way. Put in milk, cream, sugar and other stuff. Throw the switch, come back in a half hour or so and eat ice cream.. we love the thing and use it 2-3 times a month when the mood strikes. Same arguments could be made as here: storage, cleaning and buying ingredients. Would I buy it again? YES! If getting this can add soft serve and other frozen treats to my menu at home, I'm gong to check it out at Costco tomorrow.

Just grabbed one from Costco after watching the YouTube review posted in the OP

Honestly surprised how well it did for the price. It's not trying to be a $1,000 Musso, but for $160 it makes legit soft serve and frozen drinks in minutes. Super fun for kids and you can use it for adult slushies too + Costco's return policy makes it a no-brainer to try.

Just an FYI: last year I was given an ice cream maker (not soft serve). Have not used it once...

Please tell me where you can buy soft serve in a container.
