Sweetwater also has it.

"Purchase this item at Sweetwater, and get $300.00 off! The price shown reflects your savings. Effective now through 1/7/2026."

Guessing this may be holiday pricing. So anybody looking, don't feel rushed and impulse buy. Do your research first.

This is a great set up for making music. I made several albums with just 2 microphones recording each instrument at a time with an interface that had insane lag.

At this point gear doesn't really matter. Everything is good enough since manufacturing has gotten so good.

What matters is skill and practice.

If i was 16 again and thinking about making music I'd get this. a mic, 2 inputs and good enough headphones for $100? and from a company with a history and not some amazon brand like RETHNSUYSLHLKAJSHLAKGHSRKLJH? easy yes.

My only question would be is if there are any weird latency issues but I doubt it. Everything uses the same chips and I would bet a finger whatever chips are inside this are inside every other focusrite interface because that's the rules of economy of scale

I am the second dumb who has the same question about airpods. 🥲
It will sound like garbagio. People want at least decent sound if they're going to be listening to your podcast for an hour.

History doesn't mean much if the product is mediocre. The interface itself is good, the microphone is trash. Buy the interface, spend whatever else on a no name mic, or a cheap behringer, and likely come out way ahead.

Why does almost every podcaster wear headphones?

If there's more than one person involved, they're usually within a few feet of each other in what I assume would be a quiet room.

Is it just to look 'cool and involved'? Is there always construction going on outside? Are they all half deaf from attending very loud concerts?

It's a great setup. Just may not be what everyone needs. Like for instance someone interesting in doing music should look for something better geared for that.
I'm looking for recording audiobooks. This seems awesome

You still need something to mount the microphone on.

"Headphones are essential for podcasting to monitor audio quality in real time, which allows hosts to immediately correct problems like incorrect volume, background noise, or microphone technique. They also prevent echo and feedback by stopping the audio from your speakers from being picked up by the microphone, ensuring a cleaner, more professional sound."
