I see a good amount of reviews that say the rear diffs are the Granite's weak point. Is this still an issue or has it been updated since its original release?

solid deal, but not super uncommon - it has been around this price a couple of times this year. I am also seeing a coupon available on the brushed Mojave that brings it to $117 and is a bit more rare to find at this price point:

I picked one of these up this summer. It was my first RC car since the days of Ni-Cad battery packs. It's super fun and fast for someone to play around with. The only issue I have with it is that the Spektrum batteries are somewhat proprietary, which I found out when I had left one connected and it was completely discharged, killing it. Fun little car though.

Downside to this cheap 2 in 1 ESC/Receiver combo is that it's very dumb. Instead of cutting off power and shutting down, the fan and ESC will keep on working even if battery gets dangerously low. Found this out after kids left the car sitting without unplugging the battery. Smart charger then refused to charge battery because voltage was too low. What I did was hot wire another battery to it for about 5 seconds to bring voltage back up and make smart charger recognize the battery and start charging it.

weak point of all brushed arrma groms. A good upgrade would be the diffs from the brushless version
