wok boils the water. wire rack keeps plate off the wok. stream travels around the plate. steam heats up the enclosed space.
the lid that comes with the wok is smaller than 14". i got another larger lid that gives more interior height.
if you are desperate enough, then i guess you can balance and stack those multi level steamer right on the wok. BUT IT WOULD BE DANGEROUS.

This is for apartment/house use. You would need a professional 100K+ btu jet burner to achieve wok hei. At home you can always supplement with torch, MSG, smoky soy sauce, artificial smoke, grill spice etc or combination of thereabove to get some char flavor.
I bought this, because I wanted to use wok to replace chemically coated cookware.
When you say "it fits all my plates", you mean it fits on your Gas stove/range?
I would like to buy it but just concerned if my 20 year old Condo outlets supports max watts of this device?
Alternatively, the Wok can be used on the existing Gas stove/range without the Electric stove that comes with this package?
