The first time I came across the pen (the one without the bottle opener) was at Dollar Tree. I'm not crapping, as I blown away on how useful it was for the price! It wrote nice enough as a a pen. Under the cap was a magnetic reversable bit precision screwdriver, a stylus tip on top, and a 6' ruler printed on the side. I had it for a few days until I realized there was a bubble level built into the pen as well! It's a carpenter's pen! Since I was a manager of an IT dept, I went back and bought Dollar Tree out of the dozen or so they had left and kept them on hand as gifts and awards. Everyone always seem surprised on how many gadgets are on this thing!
I'm not a plant for the company, and just gushing here. They are still obviously cheaply made. If you try to pry something firmly stuck or torque the screwdriver too hard, it'll break fairly easy. It's a handy light duty device. However, you'll be amazed, if you keep one handy, how often it's the CLOSEST screwdriver, and will often do the trick!
I can't say anything about the other tool, but if it's half as useful as the pen, not bad. However, you can find just the pens, available in bulk, on Amazon for well under $1 per pen.
After buying in bulk, I handed those pens out like crazy! This almost backfired on me, as I had to give a presentation to some upper level managers and executives. (all in IT) It was very close to Christmas, so I decided to butter everyone up by giving out pens to everyone before the presentation. They loved them, but everyone was fiddling with all the gadgets and not paying attention! But, overall everyone was pleased and I received applause at the end. (Polite clapping, not cheering. I'm not that great...)
I just looked on Amazon using the search "multitool pen bulk". You can still get them for well under $1 per pen and it comes with refills for the pen! I still have a mountain of those around here somewhere... These make great stocking stuffers for just about anyone. And now that I think about it, I might buy another bulk purchase for the holiday season coming up..
