The Blade 14 is a compact OLED gaming laptop that stands out for portability, strong 1440p and 3K performance, and a well-balanced mix of speed and battery behavior for mixed use. The 32GB model looks like the safer long-term choice because the RAM is soldered, while the 14 inch form factor keeps it travel friendly. The main concerns are the 8GB RTX 5070, which may feel limiting for future games, AI work, or 4K ultra textures, and the smaller chassis can run warm with some fan noise. Weak speakers, flaky Wi Fi, and touchpad palm rejection also came up as real-world annoyances.

Good quality laptop - but isn't this overpriced for what it is? What justifies the price tag?

So a laptop that has LED screen uses less battery than one with LCD or IPS? You are saying this uses less battery than a 1920x1200 dell xps screen then? I thought OLED always meant really bright so battery is always worst? What integrated processor does it use specifically?

If you want a laptop with a decent graphics card, how much better is a 5070 compared to 5050 and 5060? A 5050 is very basic right and 5060 is when it's considered decent? Then 5070 is when a good amount better. 5070ti is much better? Then 5080 and 5090 is the best right? For someone who does something where a graphics card might make it better, is this 5070 very good compared to say an older xps with 3050?
OLED doesn't mean "really bright". As far as nits are concerned, OLED typically has less than other technologies. OLED has better contrast. If you're usually displaying a lot of blacks, it can use less power, but OLED drains more energy than other types of displays. You can think of it as one big flashlight vs hundreds of tiny flashlights (OLED). The many flashlights may not be as bright as the one big one, and use more power, but you can also select which ones are off and which ones are on.

But there is no option to turn off the OLED to a regular screen right? Like imagine how turn off the backlight on a keyboard to save a tiny bit of battery usage.

No... If you turn off the OLED it'll turn the screen off...

Yeah - I see that - its hard finding a gaming laptop that's light and portable. The MSI creator is the closest I've got so far.

Bad price. No future proof video card. First gen oled panel - the same as in Legion slim 5 oled. Should be like 1250-1350.

You would be pleasantly surprised with Lenovo Legion 7i (non-Pro) Gen 10. It's about the same weight and form factor as the Yoga Pro 9i (or the Zephyrus G16), but has massively better cooling and power delivery. I couldn't believe it when I saw one in person at Best Buy.

Coming from a 2021 Zephyrus G14 w RTX 3060 and it feels like a game changer. Zephyrus this generation feels overpriced vs Lenovo & HP. For pure highest specs per dollar, HP wins lately, but Lenovo build quality and cooling is top tier, MacBook level refinement.

Someone tell me how this is getting more love than the MSI Stealth A16 AI+

MSI vs Razor
-RTX 5080 > RTX 5070
-16 GB VRAM > 8 GB VRAM
-16″ 240 Hz OLED > 14″ 120 Hz OLED
-Better sustained thermals > thinner, hotter design
-Ethernet port > no Ethernet port
-Slightly lower RAM speed (5600 MHz < 8000 MHz)
-Fewer USB-C ports < Razer's connectivity
Form factor on the MSI stealth vs this.

You get the razer 14 or the rog zephyrus g14 for form factor.

If you don't care about form factor then that opens up all sorts of alternatives.

Also the RAM speed is far from "slightly" better on this. It is a LARGE difference.

Anyone know if this has USB4 v2 ports? Looking to possibly pair with the TB5 eGPU.
TB5 ports or USB4 ports? Because those are different.

I wouldn't recommend gaming laptops for those who think it can replace desktop and have top graphics/fps

I own 3080 razer and thought of replacing to 5080 laptop.

Ignoring the fact that laptop GPUs are slower than desktop, recent GPUs require signifcant amount of power the laptops just won't provide.

It's reaching to a point we just cannot build high powered laptop without compromising the bodysize signifiantly.

5070 desktop power recommendation is 750w. GPU itself will eat 250w+ at least at high usage. Razer 5070 on the other than hand comes with 200w and 5080 with 400w. There just not enough power for the laptop nowadays to power the GPU

I ended up getting 5080 desktop and love it, and use 3080 laptop for traveling but cant run most of the games at high graphics.

Supposedly TB5 should be backwards compatible with USB4. However only USB4 v2 would be able to take adavantage of the full 80Gbps bandwidth.

They are V1 ports on the razer so you only get 40gbs.
