Should I pay with cash and then not link my home Depot account so there will be no issues with returning ? I think one time I paid with gift card and returned and they required ID anyway so maybe it's not a work around

I'm gonna jump on that exact deal. I've been wanting to upgrade/augment my non-forge 8.0 and 12.0 batteries (certain tools like the 16" chainsaw kinda crush those batts) since the forge were released, and I don't think I've seen a deal quite this compelling.

For this deal, you'll notice it says HACK.The HACK applies to various Milwaukee deals, usually when there is a BOGO. For this deal:- You add one of the mentioned items in the post to your cart. - You add the 8.0 Forge battery to your cart (which becomes the "free" item)- You continue through with the full purchase of the cart. - You'll see after purchase, that Home Depot itemizes the products you bought. You can then return the primary item (such as the circular saw, or whatever you bought) and keep the battery. HD doesn't require you to return the entire purchase, thus resulting in you paying only $115 for such a great battery.

So from what I read there are some stores that will not give a refund on a partial return for these BOGO purchases, so buyer beware. It doesn't matter how you paid for them. Unfortunately, like Costco when the returns become too rampant for lax return policies it ruins it for everyone else.

Why don't you just go in the store and pay cash without any type of account then go get a refund?

What are they gonna ban then?

You think I have been paying cash for my Milwaukee habit? JK I have done a few hacks over the years with no issues.The last Hack I did I ended up keeping the m12 batteries rather than returning them so it wasn't a hack.
