Given that you're considering two 83″ models (same size) and likely want "best purchase" for your environment, here's what I'd lean:
- If you have a bright room, lots of ambient light, or you want the very best picture & HDR pop: go with the G3 (2023).
- If your room is more moderate (controlled lighting), if budget is more important, and you like newer model year (2025) with modern features, go with the B5.
If I had to pick one overall based on likely "sweet spot": the B5 (2025) is probably the better value and "future-proof" in many cases. But if you see a great deal on the G3, it could be the smarter performance buy.Sign up for a Slickdeals account to remove this ad.

And do you need the extra brightness for the room this is going in? I have my G3 in our bright living room so it helps a ton, going from an old B8 that required us to close the curtains to watch comfortably. In contrast, we have an S90D (fairly equivalent in brightness) in the bedroom (pretty light controlled and typically watching at night closer ot bedtime) and for that use-case, it is extreme overkill. We end up watching on energy saver, movie mode for most everything just to have the brightness at a comfortable setting so a B series LG would have been perfect for there and would save a notable amount of money.
EDIT: Just noticed this is the 83" G3 which does NOT have the MLA panel so you won't get the brightness benefit. In THAT case, I would not say this TV is worth it. I would recommend you and others consider the C5 instead.
