Because that is a 4k monitor and this is 5k. The difference in resolution matters a lot for Macs. A 5k, 27" display is proper size and resolution for everything to appear as intended for "retina" quality - doubling the resolution (quadrupling the pixels) of a traditional 2560x1440 screen.

I've had this for 2 months. Got it for $649 and use it for work.
Pros:
Colors look beautiful when connected to a Mac.
Smart features work well.
Thunderbolt 4 is very convenient. One single port for charging and display.
The USB-C hub feature is handy.
Cons.
The power brick is huge.
The monitor gets hot.
Missing HDMI port.
Low refresh rate
Still expensive for $600.
Camera sucks, can't tilt and clarity is bad.
Plastic build.

Hmm why not add $200 more and get Dell U3225QE 4k IPS black 3000:1 contrast and 120Hz screen with full fledged 140W PD and thunderbolt 4 dock built in

I have 2 of this. Wont buy again. If its in your bedroom and you have a Samsung tv near buy. It constantly turns monitor on off. Also everytime you turn monitor off it goes into an annoying blue screen for an entire minute.

Even then, I can only recommend it for people who do graphics work. I paid sub $350 on a since unreproducible deal from Samsung.com directly.
It's hard to recommend at these absurd prices unless graphic design is your sticking point. i almost returned it at the price I paid fwiw.

On my Mac I still prefer a 4k oled over this, even with the UI scaling that mac has.
