Put the beans in a crockpot for 10 hours on low. Add two strips of bacon for flavoring and thin slice two fingers of garlic. Add salt to taste the last half hour.
Take an amount of beans to make a couple of burritos in a small pot and heat. Mash with the potato masher and sprinkle shredded cheese (your choice) and stir in. Roll into a couple of burritos for work. Or with a bag of tostadas, you have a bean dip for the football game. Or a side for your enchiladas and Mexican rice.
hint: if you buy the block of cheese at the Mexican themed grocery store, you can get it for about $2.25 to $2.50 a pound. You can stretch your food budget a long ways with bean, rice and a block of cheese. Add a side of refried beans with cheese and Mexican rice to any plate and your portion of meat can be smaller. Buy pork chops in the value pack when they are on sale at $2 a pound. Fried pork chop (with hot sauce dripped on it) with beans and rice is a very low cost meal.Pork chops with mashed potatoes and corn is also a very low cost meal.

Sometimes the deal is simply that an item is in stock. In those cases, you can see $.00 in savings.
I agree that is is kind of silly though. Who is eager to buy beans online and considers saving $.10 to be a bargain?

I think funding is being restored and allotments will start going out. I haven't kept up with the news like I should.

Do you put any liquid in the crockpot with the beans? I'd like to give this a shot. Thanks for any additional insight!

great to have on hand. Can be stored for a very long time. I like to soak my beans in water for a few hours before cooking, makes them cook faster and seem softer.

Amazon can easily do the same, so why don't they? Corporate greed. Don't be telling people to buy and donate when trillion dollar companies can easily get us out of this crisis.
