Indio Cali Strat-style. This was my beginner guitar (didn't need that much work at the time) and for the price , I would consider this a deal.

Didn't see it posted just yet. Blue one goes for an additional $10.

Good deal, but I was just poking around on Amazon and found this combo. Looks like the same guitar plus a 10 watt amp. It's listed price is $112, but it showed a coupon price of $78.61. As always, YMMV if your listing shows the coupon to click or not

Thanks. I went to amazon where it showed the code for a second, then disappeared. Sweet.

These are excellent guitars. In for one.

I have three now, in red, white and blue, and just ordered a fourth in black at this price. I've had five others before. I buy them when cheap, fine tune their already good setup, noodle with them for a while, and then give them to aspiring players who can't afford a guitar.

I'm watching for their Tele copy to go back on sale for my next.

It's pretty incredible how nice these are for the price. China really has the guitar building process nailed down, and the cost of materials over there must be outrageously cheap.

I can't even put together a roster of the metal parts necessary for any less than this price. (Tuners, string trees, strings, fretwire, truss rod, neck plate, neck bolts, bridge, tremolo, pickups, shielding tape, pickup switch, wiring, potentiometers, capacitors TRS jack, strap buttons and all the little screws.) It's like getting the wood, pickguard, back cover, finish materials, a nice padded gig bag, and all the labor free.

Or you could get the Squier Debut Stratocaster for a little more and get a full Fender warranty serviceable at any authorized dealer instead of this generic junk made in a factory that can't get orders from real manufacturers like Fender or even Harley Benton.

Monoprice is it's own brand, they aren't interested in subbing for others. They have their own creed, which is to make knockoffs that's as good or better than named brands at a fraction of the price. As for their guitars, they are great for 1/2 the price or less. Don't want that, fine... but don't make false accusations.

I picked up one of thier tele's from a deal a few weeks ago. It came damaged so I returned it but the selector switch either didn't come covered or the shipping cover came off. Either way when I was checking the knobs and switch I noticed the switch was bent, no biggie I was just going to bend it back in place. When I went to do so it was obvious the metal the switch mechanism was made from was super flimsy. I would have returned it for that also and bought a squire. Over the course of play it would have eventually broke off. I'm not saying that they are t good instruments. They have been getting lots of high praise on these pages. But I would not buy one. On the other hand I bought one of thier Stage Right cabinets that is on sale and it looks to be of very high quality for the price. Again just my experiences

It's pretty obvious you haven't seen an Indio Cali Classic, much less played one.

I've been buying and repairing pawn shop and thrift store guitars for entry level students who can't afford them for over 30 years. These days, new guitars are so inexpensive, I'm buying them new as well, for the same purpose. I've had over 200 guitars come across my workbench because I've worked my way up to averaging more than one a month. These Indio guitars are every bit as good as an entry-level Squier and then some.

Don't be a brand snob just because you're not familiar with them.

I got the tele to use as a modding platform. It's awful. Replacing all the crap parts in this guitar meant using a dremel or a router, even for the neck pickup. The control cavity is damaged from where they misaligned the screw. Not worth the effort. Buying even a small step up is a big difference in quality and modding ability.

my three identical black indio retro telecaster copies with the maple neck and fretboard are the best guitars I have ever owned and I own over 15 including 80's Les Paul's. I paid $33.50 shipped for each of them with stacked coupon codes and quantity discount a few years ago (that's less than $100 for all 3). Best guitars and it's not even close. You absolutely do not know what you're talking about. The playing joy these guitars have given me in 2 years is more than the joy I got playing all my others in 30 years.

Double the price because it says Squier on it? Lol. These monoprice guitars actually have full size and thickness bodies, like a real Fender or at least a $400+ Squier Standard/Classic vibe. I've had several of these out of curiosity, and they were better than your typical Affinity Squier, let alone the cheapo Debut Squier.

I've had and played many Squiers and just grabbed one of these to give to a family member. Most (not all) Squiers were in a different league than this, IMO/IME. The finish on this is atrocious; I could have done better in my garage (actually, I have). It is playable and I don't have any major issues in the neck that I can't fix with a basic setup, but you wouldn't confuse it for a nicer guitar in your hands if blindfolded. There is dirt or grit crusted to the neck finish, the body isn't even fully glossy - it looks like they ran out of paint and/or just decided to not buff parts of it. The hardware looks and feels very cheap even compared to mid level Squier stuff (no experience with bottom end Squier to compare). Like the neck plate is half plastic.

It may or may not be full thickness (I don't have a Strat here to compare) but the carves are wrong or incomplete - it's like someone tried to describe a Strat and they made a copy.

Don't get me wrong, it's better than it has any right to be at $70. But anyone saying it rivals a classic vibe Squier is being incredibly disingenuous and misleading. It just doesn't. I've never had hands on a Debut, so maybe they're similar. Affinity has been a real lottery for me - a few that were actually a treat, most just "fine", a couple of stinkers (the stinkers were still better IMO). But CV or the other higher end Squiers are miles and miles from this - the one I got at least.
