2. went to costco (30 min)
3. ported all 4 xfinity lines (1 old 3 new) to tmobile (30 min)
4. activated all 4 "tmobile" numbers ported from xfinity on my existing phones (same phones that i used for xfinity) (30 min)
5. waiting for the iphones to be shipped (once received I will move the service to new phones) approx a week
1. used 3 old phones to activate xfinity additoinal 3 lines - all new numbers and received portout code - same code for all 4 lines (30 min)

For Step "4. activated all 4 "tmobile" numbers ported from xfinity on my existing phones (same phones that i used for xfinity) (30 min)", was this done at Costco, or can this be self-service in your tmobile online account?
Mine showed up the same way on the TMo site. However in looking at the details, you still get the full credit every month.

Max 4 discounted devices/account
Nothing in the terms mention down payment if the value of the phones exceed certain amount.

True, the monthly credit reduces by a few dollars for each line for 24 months if paying down payment of $80 per phone. Instead of $34.50 for 24 months, it's now $31.25 for 24 months. The misleading part is the company shouldn't say "Get 4 on us".

2 lines had payment plans remaining with VZ -- TMO will provide a Mastercard pre-paid card to pay off those lines and make the balance $0 so they are able to transfer over to TMO.
2 lines had no payment plans and those 2 lines got a 'free' iphone 17 256 gb over a 2 year contract payment plan
rep told me that for the 2 lines that were paid off via mastercard, they could qualify for any promos that are for existing customers, such as the iphone 17 on us 2 year contract.
also 3rd line is free and 15% employer discount. all 4 lines on the Experience More plan. comes out to $144+tax per month (taxes should range from 18-25 dollars more)
you do have to pay a $10 per phone activation fee, and you do have to pay the TAX on the full amount of the iphone 17 up front, so if its $830 for the iphone x your state sales tax.
Just like any other T-Mobile phone deal, T-Mobile doesn't care if you use the phone or not. You just need to maintain the lines to continue getting the bill credits. So yes, you can sell the phones or simply never use them if you want.
Selling these phones (locked to T-Mobile) that are still being financed by you over the next 2 years is the biggest issue. In the worst case scenario, whoever buys your phones are taking the risk that you close the lines, fail the pay the phone balance due, and the phones get blacklisted. Buyers might not be sophisticated enough to know of this possibility though.
$34.59 Promotional price $31.25 $-3.34/mo. for 24 months
All four lines showing the same amount. My monthly bill is lowered though.
Due monthly
$86.64 + taxes & fees
When I swap out the 17 for the 16, the down payment goes away even though the 16 is $100 less - $729 vs. $829. As the previous poster said there must be a threshold for the cost of the phones before the down payment kicks in. I don't mind paying the down payment of $100 but it's blatantly shady to charge me $79.99 for each phone.
When you plug in the IMEI number they can see if the phone is paid off, if its not, it will get flagged.

If you try to sell a phone that is on a payment plan, many sites will block it, such as Swappa.
