This is a 4 line T Mobile Essentials promo that pairs four iPhone 17s with about $100 a month for 24 months, best for families willing to port in and keep all lines active. The strongest upside is the phone value, with no trade in required and Costco or Sam's Club sometimes adding activation fee waivers and gift cards. Taxes, fees, and device taxes still apply, and some orders hit down payments or higher first bills. Port in rules are strict, with prepaid, MVNO, recent T Mobile, and non qualifying numbers often rejected, so the fine print matters.

Heads up the hotspot is incredible throttled on this Essentials plan.

"Unlimited 3G hotspot included. Optional high-speed hotspot available."

Consider that border-line useless.

Anyway to make this work switching from an ATT prepaid account?
It tells you if your phone number is eligible when you go through the offer.

You won't qualify. A new customer is someone who's been gone for 90+ days. Otherwise you are a winback, who get no promotions.

Verizon's 17 pro offer is a better deal. SDers in that thread is claiming to stack discounts so it's closer to $50 a month for 4 lines.
Woah can you link where they say that? I can't find those comments in that thread.

Anyone manage to stack this 4 new phone @ $100 per month deal with Keep & Swtich offer? I'm with Verizon and have four phones only paid one year. But one phone just got smashed and the other is out of country. Family freedom won't work for me.

Thanks. don't think this is possible though.
I switched from Verizon with the Keep & Switch offer with $100 /4 lines essential. After getting the virtual Visa card for the switch, I talked to a tmobile rep, they mentioned I can get 4 of 17 iPhones for free (24 months credit of $34.68= total of $830) with NO trade-in. They told me I can sign up from Tlife or from Tmobile store within 90 days of the switch. However, when I logged in Tlife account and order the phones, promotion didn't show up (free iPhone 17) as it showed the full price without monthly credit. I talked to another rep and she mentioned tmobile will credit back after I signed up. It sounds too good to be true. I just wanted to ensure so I called again and talked to another rep and now I was told that the Keep & Switch promotion can't be combined with the free iPhone 17 offer. Not sure who is right but I hesitate to do it. What if I don't get the credit then I'll pay full price the the phone. Has anyone successfully gotten both offers ?

No one is going to know since this is a new promotional offer that is unlike most of their other promotional offers of free lines or device offers. If I had to guess, this is most likely structured like T-mobile ONE 4 lines for $150 almost a decade ago, which was configured as a special SOC of ONE (unique plan code). If this a different SOC than the normal Essential plan, then there are 2 possibilities when you try to cancel line 4:1) SOC stays the same: You still pay the $100 + tax + fees, since the SOC remains the same. This is similar to when someone goes from a family to individual (2 lines to 1 line) but T-mobile agent didn't force change the SOC, biller still charges the 2 lines SOC.2) SOC changes to regular 3 line Essentials SOC: You will get billed 90 + taxes + fees, but you may get disqualified from the device promotions since your SOC changed. SOC changes will trigger an automatic re-evaluation of device promotions on your account, and you said the T-mobile agents have warned you that you may lose the promotions since technically this offer is not available on regular Essentials SOC. Will the system actually disqualify you? Who knows.Personally, I would not chance getting disqualified since unwinding the line 4 cancellation can be a difficult task. I recommend getting a iPhone 17 on line 4, then just selling it for $400 - $500 brand new locked to T-mobile. That will pay for line 4 + more, and you get a line to use or give away. When 2 years are up you can cancel or port away.
I have only 3 lines for porting in from Spectrum to TMo. I would be just adding a NEW 4th line for the sake of exercising 4 for $100. iPhone 17's on us (tmobile) as part of 4 for $100 is only for lines that are getting ported in. So no free phone on 4th line.. but it does look like I can do a trade in for the 4th line (iphone 13 can fetch me iPhone 17).. The reason I dont want to do 3 lines for $90 per month is, I will have to trade in 3 phones to get three new iPhone 17.. Traded in value of those old phones is approx $500 apple gift cards combined (per Apple website). Also, Costco GC is $75 per line for three lines.. For 4 for $100, Costco is giving $150 GC per line... I am leaning towards 4 for $100 due to free phones (no trade in) and $150 GC per line...Hoping I have factored in all parameters and not missed any.

The T-Mobile Costco phone reps says 4 for $100 will fetch $150 Costco GC per line. But the Costco tmobile rep in the store is like "I have been doing this for many weeks now.. it is just $75 GC per line for essentials.."..

Given the confusion, I am thinking of ordering this with Tmobile Costco phone reps.. Everything else like activation fee is waived with phone reps too.. Does anyone see any other red flag for ordering with Costco phone reps vis-a-vis store reps ?

1- mandatory to keep sim on these (assuming these are locked)phones ?2- what are the consequences if I move sims to unlocked old devices ?
You can move the sims to unlocked(or T-Mobile locked) phones anytime, no consequences. These are locked until they're paid off.

Don't believe the CSR. After getting Keep & Switch, you can participate in whatever offers your Plan applies. So look up the offers for existing customers on the Essential Plans. This offer is not one of them.

If it's been more than 90 days since you left Verizon, go check out their iPhone17 Pro 4 x $100 deal and port back in.

T-mobile treats loyal customers badly. Been with Tmobile for 15 years on simple choice plan with 4 lines, was paying $145 with my own devices. they wont give me this deal so i moved to verizon welcome unlimited plan yesterday. chatted with Verizon customer care, she waived activation fees, with bring your own device & autopay discount, the bill would $105 including taxes & fees.
Yep totally agree. My last phone upgrade was when Magenta Max Military came out and upgraded to Galaxy S23 Ultra. I'm not terribly thrilled with T-mobile or Samsung these days as they focus on new customers more than they do to keep existing customers. I also just noticed T-mobile closed the autopay loophole where you could pay with a credit card before the autopay with debit or checking hit. I used that as a way to get cell phone insurance with my credit card but at $30 a month for autopay "tax" thats like an extra 15% on my bill! All this churn between carriers means that all consumers eventually pay more...
