I just picked up two today. It is still advertised on their website, so I'm not sure why you think it is dead.

You can never walk out of the TW's local store easily.
I've never seen a Total Wireless store.

Edit: There is one....22 miles from me.

Would it be worth driving 25 miles to see whether they still have any in stock? Wondering if people are still finding them in stock a week later? I live in a large city.. so I need to drive 25 miles to the suburbs to the closest Total Wireless. For whatever reason, NONE of the phone numbers on Google Maps for Total Wireless are working.. no way to simply call and ask.. can only decide if whether it's worth driving 50 miles to find out. I really wonder why none of their branch phone numbers work.. they're literally a farking phone company

TW and Metro would likely add taxes on MSRP and then mandatory insurance, cover etc. So I'd say check if there are other options than driving 50 miles round trip only to be disappointed.

I got one of these yesterday (Sarasota, FL), so at least some stores definitely still have them in stock. Out the door cost was about $250 (3 months service @ $65/month + $25 activation + tax on the $399 base value for the phone).
I had the same problem contacting the store by telephone, which I agree is ridiculous. Anyway, it was worth the trip for me and ended up being an easy transaction and (IMO) a pretty good deal.

What a clusterfark! I knew this was going to happen.
I called the one Total Wireless near me with a working phone number (Oregon).. the employee said they had ONE in stock.. I said hold it for me.. it's about 1 hour drive away. I asked if Google Voice port in is ok and the employee said YES on the phone.
I drove 1 farking hour to get it. When I arrived everything seemed normal.. until the guy decided to call the branch manager who said they can't accept Google Voice numbers. WHAT THE fark. I said I've had that farking number for more than 10 years.
farking hell. Trying to talk reasonably to the manager.. explaining I just drove 1 hour and also the employee told me that Google Voice would be fine.
fark
fark fark
1 hour driving there..
$3 wasted to unlock my Google Voice
1 hour at the store trying to argue
1 hour driving back
$20 wasted on nothing today and my entire Saturday gone.
I'm really upset the manager wouldn't honor what I was told on the phone. Any retribution.. any particular web site or complaint I can lodge against the branch? They really should have honored it.
Also, the manager specifically said it was "FRAUD" I said I've had that farking Google Voice number for more than 10 years (true).. he still kept saying it's fraud.
20 minutes later (right after I walked out).. someone else bought that one remaining 16e.. I had it in my hands and then they sold it to someone else. I asked them to hold it for 1 hour for me.. I was actually so angry I was going to sign up for a Tello and use that to port in.. but they didn't keep their promise to hold it for an hour.. and when I went back 25 minutes later I was told they just sold it.
What a bunch of bullshit this farking company is.. and that stupid manager. Unbelievable.

sorry the reason I'm so emotional and upset was this was going to be my son's christmas present it's been a rough year

Now I already unlocked my Google Voice.. any other deals worth doing currently? I mean I'm definitely not driving an hour to any more Total Wireless stores.. but if there's any other amazing deal I could do right now online with shipping? I guess I'll search on Slickdeals and see if there's anything that seems worthwhile.. or anyone knows one that's good like this 16e deal was?

You and everyone that either didn't get the deal or forced to pay more for made up reasons should file a claim to the FCC for deceptive advertising and to the FTC for deceptive business practices.
Here are the steps for FCC:

1. Go to the FCC Consumer Complaint Center: https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov
2. Click "File a Complaint".
3. Select the category (e.g., "Phone," "Wireless," "Billing," "Service Availability").
4. Fill out the form with details: provider name (Total Wireless), description of the issue, dates, and any supporting documents.
5. Submit the complaint.
6. You'll receive a confirmation email and a tracking number. The FCC forwards complaints to the provider, who must respond within 30 days.
And here are the steps for FTC:

1. Go to the FTC Complaint Assistant: https://reportfraud.ftc.gov
2. Click "Report Now".
3. Choose the category (e.g., "Retail Store," "Mobile Service," "Billing Issues").
4. Provide details: company name, location, what happened, and any financial loss.
5. Submit the complaint.
6. You'll get a reference number. The FTC doesn't resolve individual disputes but uses complaints to investigate patterns of misconduct and may take enforcement action.

Total is getting as bad or worse than Metro when you go into the store. I think it is a shame they are going the same route as Metro by being scumbags, and you can't get the same deals online.

That's because the stores are independently owned dealers with their own policies, they're not actually Total Wireless.

that's a very good idea! thanks! I'm not usually the type of person who files complaints.. except for the occasional "bank bonus" that doesn't pay out.. for those I know to go to CFPB.. but thanks for the head's up about what I can do for Total Wireless.. probably wasting time written a Google Maps or Yelp review won't do anything anyways.. better to file a complaint with FCC

Strange, I called asking about doing 4 lines.

Was offered an alternate deal, said $200 OTD for 1 month service and the 4x16e and insurance, $120/mo after. Said the other deal also available with 3 months service, ~$200 OTD for one phone. (We don't pay MSRP phone sales tax on discounted phones in this state).

The alternate deal sounds suspicious, not sure what to look for/verify if I go in for it.

Edit:
Deal morphed in store to "we have 4 but they're all on hold for someone, can do 13's" to "He said lowest he can go is $400 OTD for 4x16e and 1month service" to.. *10 minutes later after already ID Verify etc* "The best he can do is 2x16e and 2x 13's for $400."
