Thoughts on the likelihood of this going any lower for BF?

TVs this high end are typically never discounted on BF sales

I've been waiting for this tv to become more attainable since it came out; honestly I think I'll end up getting a TCL QM8K instead now. The 85" of that was $1800 yesterday, hoping for lower on BF.

Saw that, thanks. I already have a 75" Sony. Looking to go 85" or 98" this time around.

Only 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, and one of those 2 is also the eARC port. TV manufacturer's need to be punished for continuing to do this, especially on mid- and upper-tier TVs.

LG and Samsung consistently have 4 HDMI 2.1 ports.

TCL, for instance, at least attempted a decent balance with only 2 HDMI 2.1 ports--but placed ARC/eARC on last HDMI 2.0 port (port #4).

Did that exactly - bought the 85" TCL today. Arrives on Thursday. 75" to 85". Figure I can either walk in with the reciept on BF for an adjustment or if they insist on having the TV brought in ....I'll buy it again on BF and return the one I purchase today at a later date.

No reason to take a chance and miss out if this will be the best price on a mid/high range mini-led TV.

I thought about it as well and if I was set on the 85" I'd probably have done exactly as you did. I'm really holding out for the 98" though.

What justifies this price vs an $1800 77" OLED?

You're getting better brightness levels over the average OLED TV with nearly the same black levels, better video processing through BRAVIA, and of course, the Sony tax

The obvious is more brightness, keep in mind there is more to it than that.

Here is a comparison from a popular model to get an idea.

And virtually no chance of burn in (as unlikly as some claim).
