How many upvotes for FP?

1,978 778 November 10, 2025 at 05:45 AM
I created a listing that has almost 30 upvotes, yet it still appears as a popular deal. I've noticed deals with fewer than 15 upvotes that are showing under FP. Could someone please explain the rationale behind this discrepancy? I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

There isn't a set amount of votes before something hits FP, it's a very manual process. The Deal Editors evaluate deals based on a bunch of criteria, like price history, availability, ratio of votes, etc.

It sounds like, in part, they were waiting a bit because it had been previously posted for a lower price via the same merchant, but community votes/comments are still good, so they just promoted it to the frontpage.

Thanks for sharing your find, and for caring enough to ask Smilie

Yeah, it's been lower in the past, but it's currently the best deal available, which is why I posted it. I appreciate you explaining it to me. Sometimes, it feels like military and veteran deals don't receive the same recognition in the popular or FP communities as other deals. I hope that's just my perception, though.

I just searched the site for shopmyexchange and it looks like around half of the deals posted for that site make pop or fp, which seems like a pretty good rate to me Smilie Not everyone has access to the exchange, or other sites like it, so if you see those types of deals with fewer comments or votes than you'd expect, it may just be because of that.

Please explain this one to me.

A staff member posts a deal today for $475 that goes FP instantly with fewer thumbs up.

My deal, posted three days ago, offered a significantly better price that can easily be matched at the same retailer as the staff member's deal. It has garnered more thumbs up but still remains a popular deal.

Hi. I checked in with the Deal Editors and it sounds like it wasn't initially FPd for a few of reasons. That same deal was already on the frontpage in another thread and your thread is technically a repost of that thread, and generally they do not frontpage threads that mostly seem to focus on price-matching another store.

That said, now that it's been a few days, the other thread has gone stale so they did just move your thread to the frontpage.

In the future, please feel free to use the mod alert/report feature to ask these types of questions, the mods typically respond much faster than I am able to Smilie
