I was able to get the 10 Pro for $389 by selecting the 20GB plan and using code YEAROFMINT. I'm not sure how the math worked out that way, but I'll take it!

So, if you don't activate the Mint plan, the phone remains unlocked? I don't need a Mint service and just happy with an unlocked phone 😀
It would appear that way. That's pretty awesome. I can see the wheels turning in the minds of the resellers.

My order was shipped out, but I don't want it anymore, is there any fee if I return the phone back?

I bought it for personal use. I can sell the Mint Mobile plan now if someone is ready to buy 😂

Isn't there a policy at Mint that if you port out a number, you have to wait 60 or 90 days before being considered a new customer with that number? I stand corrected, though.
I don't port out any numbers. I buy an annual plan with a new phone and phone number. Point my Google voice number to that number. Unlock the phone after 60 days and sell the phone. Use the service for the remaining 10 months on my daily driver until the plan expires. Buy another new phone & line from Mint, point my Google voice number to it. Rinse and repeat.

But if the phone is unlocked in the box....

As mentioned a few post ago I installed Verizon eSIM and my phone is unlocked. I haven't activated Mint service.

I'm so confused by this. I wonder if you were to import a mint SIM for a number other than the one that shipped with your phone if it would still lock for 60 days. I guess yes? If so it's technically not totally unlocked. If you or a future owner of the phone ever wanted to use it with mint, you'll still be in the penalty box for 60 days I assume.

Edit: I guess I can be my own guinea pig with this. I have a physical mint SIM that I could convert to esim to import it into the P10P arriving Saturday. I can see if the phone is locks with the alternate mint number which will tell us whether any mint SIM will lock it or only the number tied to the order. Any guesses on what will happen?

If the phone is unlocked in the box then I can move the sim to my daily driver immediately for 12 months I suppose.

Point being I never have to worry about port outs to get new customer deals from Mint since whatever phone numbers they assign to me at the point of sale get trashed once the 12 month plan is up. Carrier assigned numbers are irrelevant and transparent to your contacts when you use Google voice.

.
I would say check if your phone came unlocked. Try with some other carrier's eSIM and ensure that you have an unlocked device. Then activate the Mint eSIM directly in your daily driver and see, if the new phone remains unlocked. 99% chance is that either activation won't work in the old phone or your new phone will remain unlocked, even after Mint plan is activated.
That should be a risk free check I think.

They are going to cancel most orders that used a coupon on the higher demand phone specs. Mainly the 128gb and 256gb orders will be cancelled for the higher paid customers that didn't use a coupon.
I used coupon for pixel 10 pro xl 256gb and my order shipped.
