Good deal no matter what, even without the coupon. This is the single best Bluetooth controller on the market. The 2 has a slightly different stick technology (TMR) that isn't any more reliable just consumes slightly less battery and has RGB. It has a wireless charging dock that doubles as the wireless repeater, button mapping, Steam Input, DInput, XInput, 2.4GHz fallback, wired mode, gyro, supports Switch/Switch 2, Android, and PC. These controllers are INCREDIBLE and worth it even at full price. It is also objectively superior to ALL first part alternatives. If you need a controller with Gyro & Bluetooth this is THE ONE. If you don't then get the much cheaper 2C via 2.4Ghz. I have the Ultimate 2, the Ultimate C and my wife has the OG Ultimate and use them for Switch 2, Steamdeck, PC, and android games.

I'm getting a Switch 2 (xmas) and was starting to look at 8bitdo for extra controllers. I saw "8BitDo Ultimate 2C Bluetooth Controller for Switch/Switch 2" for $30 and was going to get that.
Is the main advantage of this one that it comes with a charging dock? If I get one of each, would the charging dock work for the Ultimate 2C for the Switch?

The charging dock for this will not work on the Ultimate 2C as the 2C lacks the charging pins on the back of the controller.

That's because this is fully compatible with Switch and mostly compatible with Switch 2 (does not wake from sleep, no chat).

ABXY variants generally do not work with Switch.

Unfortunately for me, I only get a 10% off "clip" coupon which only amounts to $4.30 so the subtotal to my order was $38.69 before taxes. Tbh, the previous deal for the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller was better than this and it released recently this year.

AKNES official site has the Ultimate 2 Bluetooth for $50.99 right now, 10% off for 5 items. I got four of them for a switch 2 family Christmas gift and added a $5 thumbstick cover to get the discount, and they are effectively $47. They are a legit seller on Amazon, but their official site has the deal.

That variant is always cheaper, as it doesn't have bluetooth, and it also has the xbox layout abxy. Not a big deal if you don't need those things, but worth noting.
