There are multiple catches. First, they're not rated 2500mAh, they're rated 2500mWh. 2500mWh works out to ~1667mAh at 1.5V. Going in the other direction, the Eneloops are 2520mWh. Also, many of the Lithium-ion AAs have outright fraudulent ratings. I wouldn't be remotely surprised if they were nowhere near the 2500mWh rating. Meanwhile, Eneloops tend to hit their (typical) rating almost exactly.

Lithium-ion AAs also have a much higher self-discharge rate, (most) won't give a low-battery warning before dying, can interfere with some wireless devices, and have a max discharge rate (which can be problematic in very high drain devices). They're also not as safe as NiMH. I only recommend using them for devices that won't tolerate NiMH.

Lithium-ion is probably the logical choice, however (1.6V) Nickel-Zinc exist (though they're not particularly common).

They have date codes stamped on them.

Sir, this is an 8 pack for $16. LADDA 2450 mAh are $11.99 for a 4 pack, and 1900 mAh 4 packs are $9.99............

Thanks. Unfortunately this deal isn't a pro version Frown

My Moen faucet takes 6 AA. Could you recommend a charger?
Panasonic BQ-CC17 seems to be the best model. I'd spend more if I were you and get either Vapcell S4 plus which I have and liked, or I'm looking to get Xtar VC8S. Once you have many eneloops, its much easier if you collect them empty batteries and just charge all at once rather than four at a time.

Yes I do. The cameras and doorbell will work but will always think the battery is low. Only way to know that it has run out is to wait for a disconnected alert.
You are right about that. Always show battery is low.

Any good deals on AAA batteries? all the electronics I have use AAA
Happy with my 1100mAh Tenergy Pro batteries. I just ran four two year old ones through a refresh cycle on my charger and they all came back up to the 1100 mAh spec. $20 for 16 over at Amz.

Yes I have these in my three Schlage smart locks, but I find the Eneloop Pro version last longer
i use eneloops on my schlage encode plus deadbolts. they work fine but you'll have to resist the urge to charge them until the schlage app shows that they're about 10 percent or so. at full charge, i think they will quickly get to 60 percent right away but will be sitting there for a while.

what's the consensus on buying eneloops from amazon these days? from what i remember, people were saying that they mix the supplies in the warehouse so even if you buy them directly from amazon, it can get mixed with the fake ones from other sellers and from i heard, there are quite a few fake ones.

Nice deal. How do I label my new ones to keep them from being mixed up with my old ones?
The first two numbers stamped on them appear to be the year of manufacture. The ones I bought this year are 25-040 6. The ones I bought in (Jan) 2021 are 20-08 E V. My really old ones are 13-07 T K.

Thanks. I check all three chargers out.

Panasonic BQ-CC17KSBA @Amazon $22.50 (free shipping)
Vapcell S4 plus charger V3.0 @vapcelltech $42.99
XTAR VC8S w/PD45 @Amazon $79.99 (free shipping)
XTAR VC8S KIT (probraby no charger) @xtardirect $71.00 (free shipping)
XTAR VC8S SET/PD45-US @xtardirect $57.00 (free shipping)

The Vapcell and XTAR seems nice with their ability to charge more than NI-xx and size other than AA and AAA.

XTAR seems to be US based but they have products shipped from both US and China. A little strange to me.

I bought 16 AA and will be deploying 6x Moen & 4x Schlage (Though I got 3 Schlage but only the front door seem to be running out of batteries)...I wonder if I can do with Panasonic BQ-CC65AKBBA @Amazon $40.34 (free shipping).

Any last thought?

How long do they last in a Blink? I know it is very ymmv based on number of tripped events, etc but would be helpful to get one data point 😀

For me about 6 months on the doorbell, a year in cameras.

Battery chargers and flash lights are really a rabbit hole hobby that can go really deep very quickly. FWIW, if price is your concerns, the vapcell can do 18650 which is a boon once you get some flashlights. So does the xtar and many others not mentioned here. I think once you go into the $40 and up range, yes sky's the limit, you'd be looking for intelligent charging, discharging, accurate measurement of capacity (tester) and many others. I don't think that Panasonic is worth it compared to the other mentioned above. Thats why I suggested the $20 Panasonic charger or go with the brand name chargers, those two were near the top of list at many flash lights and battery chargers discussion forums.

I see. Thank you for your time and information. I have a few flashlight but they are magnetic charging end so I don't need to charge the battery themselves. Pricing isn't the main concern. I only have AA and AAA that needs charging for now and just wonder if XTAR has better feature than Panasonic. It seems that they do based on your explanation. I was checking the Panasonic $40 one because it has better indicator and seem to have discharge cycle feature. I really don't know too much about what to look for in the charger. I will read a little more between these two. worship

If you can get by with a four bay charger Liitokala Lii-M4S has been rock solid and has pretty happy customers. It handles AA AAA and a number of Li-ion sizes. It has the test / capacity cyle. USB-C connection. Aliexpress under $20

Go buy Ikea's rechargeables. They are Eneloop batteries with a different label and better price.

I really hope you see the Ladda price increase, they are no longer the cheaper brand

Thank you for your suggestion heart I probably can get buy with a four bay. I generally don't buy from Ali, Shein, TEMU or big Chinese firms, etc or use Tictoc Smilie I harbor deep dislike of CCP and its control of Chinese firms. I am going to check out XTAR more and see if they go on sale or not.
