This 40V Ryobi 21 inch cordless push mower stands out as a strong clearance value, especially with the 8.0 Ah battery and charger included. The mower is described as very light and easy to push, so the lack of self propelled drive is less of a drawback for many yards. The bigger battery is seen as a worthwhile tradeoff, and the 3 year battery warranty adds some reassurance. The main cautions are that the battery adds weight, the blades are thin and can need replacement if they hit obstacles, and the clearance price may only show in store at select locations.

These things are so light though. Self propelled is a little overrated, not worth spending extra on imo

I bought many 18v and 40v batteries. Checked and had them since 2021. Still good. Got like 6 of the 40v, 4ah and 6ah. Last about 20-25" on leaf blower. I go through 3 of them on 2-3 hours yard work. Each will need 4 hours to recharge. None failed so far. It could be hit or miss. My personal experience.

Exactly this. We got an Electric a few years ago and they are Ridiculously Light. Self Propelled are probably heavier and not much better if you're cutting tall grass. O.o

I paid 349 for the self propelled model. Definitely worth the extra cash imho
I have a Ryobi self propelled model, but it's so much lighter than my old gas mowers that I usually just push it to mow and only use the self propelled function when I'm going from the front yard to the back. These mowers are really, really easy to push.

Just double checking:

If you check a store on the website and it lists the price as $499, does that mean that's definitely going to be the price, or may it show up differently when you visit the store?

If a given store doesn't have it listed with a "see in-store clearance price" link I would be VERY surprised if it rang up for the clearance price at that store.

Biggest issue with these is the really thin blades, if you hit anything, even something that's usually not a big deal, they basically need to be replaced, and they're not something that's stocked at HD. Basically if you have one, be very extra careful when mowing.
(Or get a Toro which uses more "normal" thickness blades... which is what I did).

Spend the extra 40 and get yourself a self-propelled one. Then send me rep in 20 years when your back doesn't hurt

I just picked one up today. You can't see the sale price online, you can search the stores and the website shows which ones have it on clearance, then you just have to drive there and buy it. HD actually has several different Ryobi lawnmowers on clearance, this one is the biggest discount, though.

These lawnmowers are so light weight you don't really need to the self propelled. Self propelled takes 15 minutes off the run time also
