Home Depot has the Legend Force 22 in. 173 cc Gas Walk Behind String Trimmer/Mower on clearance for $99, original price $399 and at a time in the past it was $499

Reviews are somewhat mixed so reading them might be worthwhile.

Adding a 2 year protection plan was only $12. This for me was a no brainer. Others may feel differently.

The inventory displayed isn't always accurate, but Home Depot definitely makes it easy to check stock. It'll also let you know if it's a clearance item and the price.

Thank you for the fine instructions but the item is OUT OF STOCK so it has none of the search options for me

Switch to a store that has it in stock by changing the store you're shopping, try 44143, then click on "Check Nearby Stores" and change to your zip code...worked for me to help find one local.

If it's something that you're really interested in figure out how far you'd be willing to drive and plug in some zip codes from that distance. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes times it's not worth the hassle.

I'm wondering about that myself. I have an area of my property that's all trees, weeds and brush etc.. that I want to clear some walking paths in. I'm not sure how this machine will handle some of the heavier brush, a blade would probably be best for those patches but I'll see. Anyway that's what got me thinking about the steel lines. They should at least last longer if I try to tackle something that's too heavy.

Its a 4 stroke for those interested. (No need for oil/gas 2 stroke mixture.) Seems like a great deal if you can find it. None within 100 miles of me unfortunately (Northern VA/DC)
