Walking by a Metro today and saw this sign (see attached).
The store associates told me it's a new deal this week and only available in store.

Sorry for the crappy poster pic but here's what it says:
iPhone 16e on us
with $150 virtual prepaid Mastercard after 3rd monthly payment.
Just bring your number & ID and sign up for our $50 with AutoPay rate plan (1st mo. is $55).

And wayyy at the bottom it says:
Your phone is $149.99 plus tax at checkout. Not available if currently with T-Mobile or w/ Metro in past 180 days. Limit 2. Redemption required.

Similar to the deal to the Total Wireless free 16e deal but you can't unlock it for a year.

Dealing with metro stores is a huge pain. I have never had a positive outcome anytime I have gone to them. Hope this deal gets available via website later

One year when there was an iPhone 13 deal I went to a local store and the manager told me it's out of stock and he can reserve one for me, so I swiped my card for $40 reservation fee and he gave me a receipt and said he will call me once it's back in stock. It ended up that he never called and after a long while I stepped into the store and said I don't want the phone anymore and showed the guy my receipt, guess what he said, "the previous owner sold the store to us and we never got that money so I can't give the money back to you."
I will never visit any metro stores anymore. Period.

Keep in mind it's locked to them for a year of service before they'd unlock the phone.

If they only knew how much these retail stores hurt their business. kind of like how some franchise car dealers hurt manufacturers reputation with shady practices

The BBB isn't a government organization. It is a private review company (like Yelp or Zomato). The difference is that the BBB is a scam company that sells "subscriptions" to businesses to get an automatic A+ rating and to hide negative reviews (and any business that does not pay the extortion cannot organically get an A rating, that is pay-only).One person successfully purchased and obtained an A+ BBB rating for an overseas terrorist organization in order to prove it.

It helped me to get money back on few cases and get refund from Samsung when ordered appliances were defected.

Have you had issues since the rebranding to "Metro by T-Mobile"? I used to have issues with original Metro but the rebranded stores are more like a t-mobile type experience at least for me.

That's fine. Just never trust any business with a rating higher than a B. No business at the BBB with an A rating earned it. And it means they had something so negative that they were willing to pay a subscription to hide it.
