Figure I'd ask here...

I've got a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek which just passed the 100k mark (courtesy skiing and side gigs).

Looking to see if tires will be any better off this black friday or as christmas sales start not too soon after.

100% stock crosstrek, but entertaining ideas to keep oem rims and possibly go +1 or so tire size.

Haaaalp!

Even if the miles are low, you do not want any tires older than 6 years. Look at the manufacturer date. Change them even if the tires still have plenty of thread. The older the tires, the seam will show cracks on the sidewalls. The danger is a blowout when the car is traveling at high speed.
Depends how they were treated. These Michelins are 8 years old going on 9. And have no dry rot or cracks. But I am replacing them and will sell them soon.

Car been garaged and driven maybe 15-20k miles in that time. Spare 2000 Camry/

The conti CC isn't a visa or MasterCard? FYI it's not accepted in most tire stores. Ask me how I know? Giga tires is currently the best for your $$$.

Six years is fine. Maybe 15-20, you worry. If the tire looks fine, I think it's fine.

As for deals, call around. There are a ton of tire shops. Usually Costco is best for something new and nice, but sometimes a small local shop beats all. Other small local shops carry off brands that are acceptable, if you don't mind lower performance.
I agree that 6 years is fine, but the 15-20 is way too long. I wouldn't go longer than 7 or 8, and certainly not 10 years or more.

Ordered four Michelins at Discount Tire online yesterday using the Paypal pay in four to get 20% back, plus instant $100 off, plus a cashback portal, plus a Wells Fargo 2% back card for Paypal. Had them mounted today. Very smooth transaction.

I just did the same: price matched costco, got $100 off, then got a manufacture warranty for another $100 off. You cannot beat Discount/America's Tire.

Am I the only one that puts four tires in a cart, then tries to select an installer and Pep Boys no longer appears? I tried with three different browsers and 6 different area codes near me. None.

all of these were more expensive than America's Tire/Costco for me so YMMV.
