you can buy bronze plan - $35 on the last day from walmart.com and select Direct Top Up option and provide phone number.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Straig...om=/search

Straight Talk has a "Reserve" system:

you can add a plan to your account before your current service ends. Straight Talk Extras+1
Plans you add to the Reserve are automatically applied on your Service End Date.

What Happens If You "Activate Now" Instead of Reserving

If you choose to not reserve but instead apply the new plan immediately, Straight Talk warns: you will lose any remaining days on your current plan.

Scenario ("$55 plan ends Dec 17, 2025; you want to add a $35 plan early for the second month")

If you add the $35 plan now and put it in Reserve, it will not start immediately. Instead, it will wait and begin on Dec 17, 2025, when your current $55 plan ends.
It won't overlap or "stack" service days unless you choose to activate the plan immediately (which is risky because you'll lose remaining days).

Can I just buy this phone for $299 online and then get that $10 plan for 2 months and will that be able to unlock the phone then?
The $10 plan likely no longer exists. I used it last year for the 2nd month. They wouldn't allow you to use it for acivation. It was only available through chat. It's $249 if you buy it online but to get that price you have to buy a 3 months Silver plan which is $120.

Seems like every store rep has their own policy. All my rep did was ring me up for the phone and put my details in the ST system, and I had to activate at home and could only do it by turning on the phone. Couldn't set up my online acct first because she used her own email for it (no idea why!) and I had to waste another 30 min chatting with ST to correct.
Now that's crazy - my area phone rep rotates between 3 stores so calling ahead to find out his schedule is the only way to make sure someone is available and it gets done correctly, even when a reg employee is willing to do it they can screw it up by entering the wrong info.

Update. I went back to the store and the person who could activate it just left. I waited around a few minutes and he showed up. Got the phone with 55 plan for 284 after tax. Didn't have to open the phone. He said it would it activate after I turned it on. I still opened it and it worked. I will return the online order. I contacted straight talk. Multiple times. There is no 10 dollar monthly plan. Cheapest is 35. I just paid someone on Reddit 95 to unlock it. I will post back in 1-3 days after it hopefully works and I don't get scammed. I'm impatient and the 60 dollar difference is worth it to me so I can trade in my other phone before the value drops in 2 months.

And it doesn't even meet the $$ requirements of the deal - people really need to READ the details and the info here before posting.

Yah, I think I am going to give up. I can't just go around and chase where the rep who can activate. Fortunately, I have a job.

Apparently everyone is a phone snob and doesn't want to be spotted with a cheaper phone in front of their social circles? This an absolute steal and 90% of people don't give a shyt MagSafe or cameras at different focus points.
You will be surprised how much teenagers cherish wide angle cameras on iPhone. My daughters had a choice- this or iPhone 14 on visible. They didn't care about 16e since it had no wide angle camera.

Good idea - I got this deal but wasted +2 hours and went through a ton of frustration & hassle doing so. I knew it would be bad having to go instore to WM to start off with, and it was even worse that I feared.

lol, apparently you don't have a phone to call them. Also online will indicate if in stock.
In my experience hunting down stuff for myself and my kids, not including cell phones I've had stores to tell me they 100% have the item in stock only to get there and then to show me either a different item or the outright pretty much lied about it. Which sucks when ur driving 45-1hr to a store

Picked it up online for $249 with $120 of 3 months of Silver Unlimited. I need the unlimited plan anyway, so not worth messing with the store to save $50. Chase with $15 CB, too.
THANKS for sharing this. I grabbed one direct from ST as well with the $120/3mo silver plan. FYI, there's also a $25 CB at amex right now (20% back, capped at $25) for those looking to avoid Walmart. Smilie

I think I know the game now. You need to go to a Walmart that has a cell phone department. I think I found one already. I am going to try tomorrow and hunt this 16e down 😅😅😅

Sorry. I'm a bit confused. Is it $254 total? I understand that includes one month of their Gold Unlimited plan, but you do need to spend more to get a second month for it to unlock, right?
Also, is this deal likely to come back? Not sure if I'll be able to get it tomorrow (11/16).
