Vizio is not the "a lot of bang for your buck" brand it was 10+ years ago. Every product, from their TVs to sound systems, is pure junk now. Get ready to have your picture cut out frequently within a few months, or the TV not even being able to turn on until you unplug it and plug it back in. Vizio has been a "you get what you pay for" brand for a long time, now.

Hate to say it, but the amount of people I know in my life who had vizios die on them is staggering. My advice? Buy the extended warranty. And I'm not one who ever purchased extended warranties, but for vizio I would do it in a heartbeat. Wouldn't buy the TV without one.

I put the extended warranty on every tv I buy. Most are only $30-$50 plans.

I've had every brand die, at least the 2 Hisense tvs were repairable with a 10 cent capacitor

This is spot on. Have Vizios from way back that were great TVs for the money. Recent ones, including two similar 50 inch ones are garbage. One completely died; the other only works if I unplug it and plug it back in.

I bought one from walmart before I saw SAMS matched it. I have a Sams club membership but decided to not go through the return hassle for a $100 tv and 3 year warranty.

I've had it on all day streaming movies on Fandango, my other tv is an LG OLED, the Vizio tv remote turns on the LG. I have them in the same room while I tested it to decide if I wanted to keep it for the garage.

It took some tweaking, the display is a bit washed out but I was able to fix it by turning down the black level, brightness and contrast.
Is it like an OLED, no. But is it good enough for the garage or an extra room? I think so. but will need some picture tweaking to make it decent.
The sound is actually pretty good IMO. loud enough at 30 for me.

Currently watching Live Die Repeat in 4k, it's ok for background entertainment in the garage (that's replacing a 40 lb Sharp 42 inch tv from Slickdeals circa 2008/10?), I'm going to keep it and hook up a hardwired roku or ONN box.

Wish it had an rj45 but I guess it's what we get these days for a $130 50" tv.

Exact same. Bought it for the garage, and don't wanna spend the time returning it, to repurchase from Sam's. Set it up, and will work fine for my use case

Yep. I bought a Vizio for a friend 2 or 3 years ago, and her picture was cutting out within a month, and the TV needed unplugged all the time to get the image back. I exchanged it for her, and the new TV had the exact same problem. My sister also has a Vizio and she told me her picture does the same thing. Hers is a different model, too. I got a Visio 5.1.4 sound system a couple years ago and it has all kinds of connection issues. A friend of mine also has a surround system from them, and he has the same problems, and his is brand new. Everything they make is crap, these days. I will never buy another Vizio product again. There are too many other/better choices. That brand doesn't need to exist anymore.
