he's close, they've go down to 159$ in the past... haven't seen that since 2023 though, they only dropped to 179$ last year from what i remember and now with the cost of everything still increasing, looks like 199$ this year.

on the product, these things are great at 159$, at 199$ I would pause... they're very useful, i own 4 of them, use them for things like elevated animal feed storage (holds ~600lbs of feed with ease) over my wood cart in the garage and stacking my tractor implements in the detached garage (nothing like being able to roll your stacked grapple and plow around when you don't need them.)
Yup, I bought 3 @ $159 in 23. If they somehow make it back down to that I'll probably 1-2 more. Work great for construction and for temporary multilevel shelving. Paid a crazy amount comparatively for outriggers and jack feet but they've been great.

I just bought two of these to get rid of bees in my eaves. Let me tell you, getting stung in the face with your feet 12 feet off the ground isn't fun.

However, I did buy some bolts and clamped everything tighter than the pins allow, making the double stacked scaffolds very rigid. I also bought outriggers for $89 at NortherTools, since I'm still fighting bees and have to move around a lot.

I guess this is a solid investment for $500 total, just to save money painting my house?

For outriggers and guardrails, do you have to get metaltech ones?

I've been eyeing the 2 stacked 12' set ($769.10) and 3 stacked 18' set ($1222.20) for smoothing out/paint my 20' ceiling/walls + future projects. The set would be cheaper than buying the outriggers and guardrail separately but if i can get those cheaper 3rd party, buying 2/3 individually could be better.

The metaltech outriggers can be adjusted to 45 degrees, & it would be ideal to be as close to the wall as possible. If anyone has any tips/ideas to point me towards that'd be greatly appreciated! Sorry if this was a dumb question, I'm new to this.

When we need scaff up close to a wall, we assemble as normal in the center of the room with outriggers, then roll the scaffolding close to position, then remove the outriggers on the wall side only. We then roll the scaffolding up close to the wall and lock all wheels. Outriggers are insurance against tipping. Generally, there is no danger of tipping in the direction of a near wall.

I have an 8.5' reach. I could do a 20' ceiling on a double stack, with the railing of course.

The double stack set is a better value. Then add another tier if needed.

Something above commenters fail to mention is that osha standards require a kick plate where railings are required. The safety rails for this scaffolding system have built-in kick plates, which crossbars do not. Kick plates keep loose items from skating off the sides and keep your feet on the platform if you were to slip or misstep. In my use, osha is not a concern, but I strongly prefer the safety rails to a crossbar.

I have three tiers of this system, use them 5-6x/year. If I'm setting up a third tier, I am seated with my legs straddling the second deck while I pull up additional sections. I always do proprioceptive warmups to improve my balance before climbing a ladder or scaffolding. These units do wobble a bit and more so the higher up you go.
