If you don't need Wifi7, GLiNet MT6000 router have very good range (good signal 2000sq home + 100' yard) and easy to setup like Asus. It has built-in Adguard home, Tailscale, ZeroTier, OpenVPN, Wireguard VPN, and Tor. The MT6000 router have dual GLiNet GUI and Luci OpenWRT Snapshot. If you don't like stock firmware, full OpenWRT and Tomato64 are available.

Curious, who is the main consumer target of a router of this cost?

Nothing - I'm just used to dealing with Amazon or Costco. Probably will pull trigger on this deal if not dead in 5 seconds. Haven't bought from Newegg in ages but I used to and they were fine back then.

Same here. I'd like to see other online commerce companies match or even beat this pricing. I've been looking to upgrade the aging RT-AX88U.

They have been known to refuse returns on their own DOA open box sales, but I've had no problems buying new from them.
Google: Newegg scammed us if you want to know more.

I have the old Wifi 6E version of this router. I bought it because I didn't want to run multiple access points (mainly because of cost) and I didn't want to have any additional points of failure. Networking is tough for a lot of people. I just wanted a simple do it all and have great signal. Plus it has adguard built in at the router level. I don't have to set it up on a bunch of devices now.

It's not really that expensive if you want WiFi 7 and the features
