Beware buying used Apple Watch from Amazon. They don't always turn off the "find my" even though the watch is reset as new. Someone else can track you and the watch tells you this from time to time but it's impossible for us to remove.

Ordered a S11 with 30% off today - thanks for the heads up - would this show up pretty quickly after activating watch?

That person is wrong. If it's linked to someone else's Find My you won't be able to even pair it with your iPhone, and it needs to be paired with an iPhone to be used. It'll just be stuck at the setup screen."Once you contact them and they manage to remove the watch from their Apple ID account, they won't be able to track it, either.
