Community Reviews

The AW3423DWF is a 34 inch QD OLED ultrawide that stands out for immersive gaming, strong colors, and useful productivity space. The 3440 by 1440 resolution and 165 Hz refresh rate make it feel fast, while the 1800R curve is described as mellow enough for a comfortable desk setup. It also works well for side by side windows, creative work, and long sessions without reported burn in. The main tradeoffs are softer text than IPS and the fact that it is not 4K, though Dell's warranty and dead pixel policy add peace of mind.

For me, these "we didn't bother to go full 4k" screens kind of suck.
Unless you have a 4090 or 5090, you won't get enough FPS at 4K for graphically demanding games especially now that everyone is using Unreal Engine 5. I also find ultra wide more immersive.

Not a gamer. Is this overkill for day to day use? Web browsing, videos, emails, Word, Excel.
Some people find text a little blurry because of triangle subpixels but movies will look amazing.

The great thing about modern games is that you can set the resolution however you want. You can have a 4k monitor for productivity and movies then cut off 720 pixels from the vertical. This is especially easy with an LED since there's no backlight to cause annoyance, and it can even keep other apps open. I tend to game in a 1920x1080 window to reduce nausea, even when my RX 6800 can handle 4k, which is often enough.

I bought one of these during one of the last BF sales. Check the cashback sites as some of them have pretty good targeted percentages (mine had 30% when I bought it but YMMV). Combined with the AMEX offer and its a no brainer.

I use it for both but it really shines for gaming and color work. Text is pretty clear and I'm in Excel for a lot of the time. No burn in over the year or so I have had it and it prompts to do a refresh every 4 hours to keep panel health at peak.
Was it 30% last year. I was thinking that it got down to around $400 last year. I keep hoping the newer model will get this low. I still find it funny that last year there were so many replies stating to wait because the newer screens would be out in 2025 that would fix the blurry text, yet that didn't happen, at least not at this price point.

These are trash, like most Alienware products. Dell will try everything in the book not to honor the warranty once it inevitably breaks.

Alienware 34 240Hz AW3425DW price dropped!
Yes, for a 1 cool Benjamin ($100) more, you can get the upgraded and newest model at $649.99 from Dell.com:

https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/alienware-34-240hz-qd-oled-gaming-monitor-aw3425dw/apd/210-brrk/moni... [dell.com]

The AW3425DW has faster response time and higher refresh rate, 0.03 ms and 240 Hz VS 0.1 ms and 165 Hz, among other differences.

I've had this for two years and absolutely love it. Been doing creative work and gaming on it daily and it's been stunning with no burn in issues.

This monitor doesn't necessarily connect at full resolution or refresh rate for me reliably enough on a couple work machines I'm connected through a KVM.

But my old Dell s3220dgf does. They both use HDMI 2.0 ports and it's a bit of a mystery to me.

Older model but still good. Might be worth it for some to get the new, updated model. Will consider this... too bad the cash back sites haven't started their higher cash back rates yet!
This or the Costco one?

Just loggged in on Dell's website and they ve now dropped the price to 499$. Just below the 500$ threshold you need to get the Amex 100$ off offer.

Too bad Dell, i wont be ordering it at the listed price.
