Worth it at that price. But fair warning, almost all the changes they made to the game are dumb. Especially the difficulty scaling with bosses. And they changed the amount of effort it takes to level up to artificially increase the game time.
The sprite work is OK and kind of jarring because the artists are lazy.
The towns are beautiful, but they run at 10 FPS.
I got to the end of the game and the Boss scaling is too stupid so I put it down

Still too much for a bad remake of an almost 40 year old game.

It's currently the same price on the PS5 and Switch digital stores as well. 👍🏻

I'm playing it now, on Draconian Quest difficulty no less (always give it an honest shot w/ DQ games.) I can't complain about boss scaling, although leveling slows to a crawl past level 30. I think bosses (and enemies in general) give more XP than they did in the original game, to compensate. I did feel the need to grind a bit in the beginning, but I don't mind.
I dunno what you mean about towns running at 10FPS. Do you mean the various animations like bushes swaying in the wind? I haven't noticed a single instance of frame rate loss on PS5.
The only thing I can complain about so far is one particular dungeon past the halfway point of the game that is ridiculously too large, boring, and time consuming, and I have to GO BACK AFTER POSTING THIS DAMNIT to get a good helmet I missed. Also, the random encounter rate is just way too high across the board, but that's "classic JRPG" for you.

You have to farm Liquid Metal slimes to gain levels mid to late game. There's weapons and abilities that make them easy and a few spots where they spawn pretty often.

Same think in DQ11. Loved that game!

Bought this earlier in the week and playing now on PS5. Loving it. If you're old enough to have enjoyed the originals this is a must buy.
