Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

What do you mean buy one for $250 and charge 1250 to PayPal? Online or in store? Not following the steps or logic. Thanks in advance.
He means to basically lower your total balance to 1500 as that's the limit for most people with pay over time. So he'd get a gift card and redeem it in the purchase over 1500. I'm not sure if paypal allows for pay over time and split payment though. My pay over time limit is $2700.

I don't see the pay in four option come up as something I can choose
If it's not in the little popup window after logging into PayPal during checkout then maybe your account isn't eligible for pay in 4, or you're buying something that doesn't allow it. Sorry.

Mine disappeared after 4 rejections. First 3 was "too high amount". I tried $1200 then like $700. I have good credit so not sure why......I can apply for credit cards online and get approved. weird

Yeah that's weird since another user said it worked with nike.com, I just see the list of credit cards to attach but nothing with the pay in four option.

I got the offer but how do I use it as I don't see any pay in 4 just Paypal Credit? Is only through pay in 4 and not thru Paypal Credit (via Synchrony Bank)?

My wife was blocked after one purchase too. That makes both of us getting these messages for the same reason:

"Total amount of recently approved PayPal Pay in 4 loans."

Super stupid!

Could end early, not sure if waiting for Chase 5% is a good idea, and since you pay bi weekly, only 2 payments in Dec.
If you make the purchase Dec 1-3 you'll get 3 payments in Dec.

"Eligible Purchases do not include: ... (4) purchases made at a merchant who enrolled in Pay Later within 30 days prior to the start of the promotion"
To me, this sounds like eBay isn't an eligible purchase since they already have a dedicated PayPal Credit button. But maybe I'm wrong???

Looks like the Apple Store website has Paypal as a payment option, and the "Pay in 4" option shows up too. Does that make Apple Store purchases automatically eligible for the cashback?
Terms and conditions says: "Eligible Purchases do not include: (1) purchases that are marked as "pending" as of the end of the Offer Period". Does it mean your purchases will not count?

I've been using the PayPal pay in 4 option for years. The total amount for one transaction is $1500. However, I did have to build up to that level. It wasn't a instant $1500 level of credit. Now I have had several times a balance of over $1500 but being able to do this isn't consistent.

The max per transaction for the 20 percent is obviously $250. However, after talking with PayPal support and with chatgpt it does appear that is a $250 per transaction and not per account.

I do wonder if there is going to be a "gotcha" moment with an account limit or hammer down on people paying off the balances and refusing the credit to buy more.

Pending for pay in 4 means the merchant hasn't confirmed and processed your order. Once they do that it falls out of pending limbo and into an actual order. So don't buy the final day of the offer.

They should show below the transaction in your payment history, otherwise the PayPal Rewards dashboard should have the points listed for each transaction as well
Finally showed the pending points once the charge hit the card.

For some reason it says 29000 pending which is a full 20% of my purchase. So more than the expected 25000
