Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Not necessary to do so.
I had to in order for mine to go through at least for Pay Monthly - I kept getting rejected until I realized maybe I should try unfreezing my credit reports. As soon as I did that, the approvals went through.

I couldn't seem to get it to show PayPal pay later, guessing it's not allowed on federal tax processors, but let me know if you figure a workaround.
Same, couldn't see the PayPal pay later option for either of the federal tax processors

Would this work for buying a Herman Miller chair on ebay? I am trying to keep up with the thread but not sure if the value is above the $1250 threshold how that works?

Did u get the points for pay later (monthly) option. I thought this promotion only for 4 payment option.

Made a purchase at Macy's using Pay Later 4 payments. It shows up as a pending active plan. But I don't see anywhere saying how many points I will get.
My points now show up as pending. I think it waited until my first payment actually posted. Used a BoA CC.

i thought i saw it say in the terms that gift cards don't count. i think that points pending is not going to work. they're too smart nowadays to let you do that.
where it says gift cards not counts? I can't see that mentioned.

So far I have not been able to use this promotion even though it is in my Paypal account. When I go to check out at the Disney Store it gives me the option to Pay in 4 and authorizes it but when I check out it just goes back to the cart and shows the full amount that will be charged to Paypal. Everytime I authorize it there is a pending charge on my account. I had to have Paypal remove three pending charges.

Then I thought I would try Target. It shows Pay Later for $100.00 total as three charges in a month so I don't think it qualifies.

No luck with Best Buy either.

Very frustrating so I think I am moving on.....

After paid of balance. Today again showed up Pay in 4. Looks like you need to pay off balance and wait for 24 hours to reset

Need help here. I tried to buy gift card from best buy. First order of $200 went through pay in 4 with no problem. The second order of $600 was denied by best buy and showed refund on paypal. Now I do not have pay in 4 option anymore. Only pay later monthly still available. It seems there is interest rate charge for pay later monthly. Am I still able to get points if I pay monthly and pay all of them off after first monthly payment?
Just ran into the same problem Frown I think you can pay right away the full amount (minus the calculated interest) and be able to avoid the interest fee but still get the points. I believe interest accrues pro-rated daily so if you wait days after the charge posts, you may have to pay whatever interest has accumulated. But if you pay right away right after posting there technically shouldn't be any interest.

I'm deliberating doing this since I got screwed with whatever problem the merchant had after applying Pay in 4 :T Actually, I have two Paypal accounts and already did the deal with Pay Monthly actually and got over the $250 cap on that account somehow - I have the Pay in 4 option there but not sure I want to risk it since I've already exceeded the cap... it would have been nice doing Pay in 4 on the credit card instead of directly out of my bank account (with Pay Monthly) as well. Just to get some extra points out of it. But at this point, maybe I'll just conceded to Pay Monthly...
