Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Has anyone confirmed doing this multiple times and if they were able to exceed the cap (and if so, if they were using Pay Monthly or Pay in 4)? I mentioned earlier that on one order I didn't have that cap but I used Pay Monthly. I thought I saw that some people who used Pay in 4 were capped at $250 so maybe the cap doesn't apply to the Pay Monthly orders? I just did the gift certificate trick to apply to an item that is on backorder somewhere and it seems to have worked. Total amount was $860~ and I'm have $172.xx worth of points pending.

I haven't been able to successfully use Pay in 4 either way. Thinking about doing this a couple more times for some other items that I have on backorder from a couple places.

Do "online shopping" cash back cards like Amex Blue Cash Everyday and BoA Cash rewards still give 3% when used this way? They do when using them through normal paypal payments.

My purchase is showing pending 29581 points as well for my ~1479 purchase
How many hours or days did it took to show the pending points in the account? Thanks.

upto 1250 i.e. 250 with multiple transaction. I had to unfreeze my equifax for soft credit check as well
Why is the range from 30 - 1500 if 1250 is the limit?

I bet this will be coded as cash advance. There's a long thread about AliExpress and PayPal on Reddit.https://www.reddit.com/r/Aliexpress/s/vREh71977I
Yeah probably not worth the effort, thank you!

Anyone figure out a way to 'reset' the Pay in 4 or Pay Monthly options (to get them to show back up) after encountering errors at checkout that prevented the transaction from completing? I figure you either have to wait some period of time or possibly contact Paypal? It seems like when this happens, the approval gets stuck in some sort of authorization status that's tied to the failed transaction and likely can't easily be undone?

Darn, just noticed this: "Total number of recently approved PayPal Pay Monthly loans."

YMMV but it seems they may cap you (I'm guessing depending on your income level, transaction amount and any prior transaction and respective amount, etc).

They probably saw more than one of these loan requests coming in within the past hour or two and have a hard limit at least daily.

Made a purchase (~$470) with Pay in 4. Wanted to make more purchases at other merchants but the Pay in 4 doesn't show up now. Any tips?

I get to the PayPal app where I can link my credit card and I linked my Citibank card but then the pay in 4 doesn't come up
I used an AMEX card and it went through. I was reading other posts in this thread and it said certain credit cards don't work, not sure if Citibank was one of those, but I know Chase cards apparently don't work.

I made two Pay in 4 purchases but the option didn't show up anymore after that. Only Pay Monthly. I'm wondering if I can just choose that option and pay it off immediately to avoid paying interest.
