Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

When the points finally do clear, is the cashback option 1:1, as in if I have 25000 points, I'll get $250 cash, or is it a lower ratio. Just trying to figure out if it'll be better to get gift cards or not.
Yes 250 is correct for your example

Was able to buy some computer parts at best buy but now the pay in 4 option is gone. Didn't even reach the $250 cashback limit.

Another question comes up. What if they determined the eligible points per transaction and then you decided to do a return? It will be a loss if your higher purchase is where all the points are allocated by them and you did a return. I dont think they will bother reallocating the points to the second purchase. That's a reason why it might be 20% for each purchase up to $1,250. Just being hopeful that is the case
That is a concern too and this is the reason for me to think that Paypal will not even bother checking anything soon but will apply the terms in which pending points will be redeemable upto 90 days. So every transacation and possible returns (even including extended holiday return dates) will be cleared and then Paypal can check whatever the remainin purchase in the account and redeem the cumulative points upto 25K. I hope I am wrong. I have multiple transactions and will do more just in case Paypal just gives us the points more than 25K Smilie

Second successful use today at LEGO shop! I had paid off the previous use at NIKE, so not sure if that helped cause it to show up again. What a slick deal, basically getting 20% cash back on almost all my Christmas shopping this year!
