Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Buy it and cancel it if it doesn't work out. You would know about the points in a short amount of time. Easy to cancel
They might claw them back, or convert them to 5% if that offer actually comes back.

pretty sure they are intentionally throttling this promo now to avoid legal actions but also to not lose any more money. I haven't even made my first purchase yet and the total was only $1041, below the 1250 limit. credit score is 866. Tried on my 17 year old paypal account and was flagged for suspicious activity lol, I tried in a different account and was flagged too but instead for " limit being reached" which is very not true lmaoo, same cards.. of course the promo now disappeared from both my paypal accounts and will probably magically come back after dark friday and nerd monday. yeah right paypal

Yup had a soft inquiry for pay in 4 before sh**ty PayPal took it away. Does pay monthly have a similar soft check or hard pull? does anyone know
"Applying for Pay Monthly will not impact your credit score. If your Pay Monthly installment loan is approved and used, PayPal may report your Pay Monthly installment loan to credit reporting agencies. This will include information like your loan amount and payment history, which may impact your credit score."

They do that in mass quantity using their software to update the database, not one by one like the old days. There might be a little latency, but I suspect those "completed" indicators were rolled out pretty quickly along with updating their accounts to no longer qualify.

Changing those terms and the wording, required someone to think things threw and understand what the real terms were and get it clarified, so no surprise about an additional update there.
Fyi This guy has absolutely no idea what he's talking about

I did the deal twice last week and got the email saying I hit my limit today. My offer was showing saved and not used so I tried it again just now. My purchase is showing 20% points pending, so unless they claw back the points it seems like the offer can be used one more time.
Like I said a few times since these new terms were released, I did one transaction today, 3 prior, and I still have 20% points showing for all. But my offer now says completed, so sad to say it's over for me.

That's the one place PP could recoup since they stated that "stored value cards" didn't qualify in the previous terms.

I would if I were them but I doubt it. Its too much work for them to identify.

I unfortunately received the email saying I've reached the maximum. I plan to change my future PI4 payments to use my Chase Freedom cards for the 5x category bonus in December for PayPal

Edit: Nevermind, Chase cards are not eligible for paying for these.

exactly probably far easier to just flag accounts with insane spending than try to figure out what was in everyone's cart and if it was stored value or a product, especially if it's small businesses that don't send paypal additional info or categories i would assume

Yes it shows as complete.
Hmm so there might be another chance even though the email seems to suggest otherwise. I'm guessing it was the end of that promo and this one is a "new" one, but also a gamble as the could claw it back.

Highly unlikely they would claw them back if they are pending and otherwise legit. That would be an unethical business practice. Different from changing the rules going forward

Everyone has reported to this point, including me, that Chase cards won't work for Pay in 4 purchases or payoffs.

The terms said they reserve the right blah blah blah to do whatever they want.

And by the way, they changed the rules RETROACTIVELY, not JUST going forward.

They changed the rules/terms like 9 or 10 hours after my purchase earlier, and said I had hit the limit, based on a new limit which didn't exist at the time of my order.

Hoping to see someone who had previously used it, gotten the email today, but still see the "new" offer in their rewards with a successful purchase, so I can make mine! Trying to get a Bambu P2S and I've heard the cancellation window is super short so would rather see some success before trying.

The advert on mobile that disappeared, whatever the Symantecs. So you tried it within the last couple hours since that stopped showing up?
It's still appearing on the website so I don't see why it wouldn't work if it doesn't appear in the mobile app.
EDIT: Actually I don't see it on the home page either.
