Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

First rule of Slickdeals. Well second after "don't call": always buy now think later. Stuff like this can often happen where a deal is supposed to last, then doesn't!

The simple answer is yes, based on their last mass mailing...

Any eligible PayPal Pay Later transactions you made before today will receive the benefit of the original offer terms. You can check the status of any pending points in the rewards hub of the PayPal app.

Thank you for being part of this promotion.[/I]
Of course the question is what is "today". The email came to me around 1PM EST so there's sort of a grey area in between.

Need help with pay in 4. Checking out at Best Buy, clicked PayPal button and it took me to PayPal. I clicked the pay in 4 (preapproved), finalized it, and it took me back to Best Buy checkout as if nothing happened. First of 4 payments shows as pending on PayPal, and my credit card was charged, but on Best Buy it shows full amount still due, and when I hit "place your order" it wants the back three numbers of credit card like a normal order. I'm so confused why the order didn't go thru on Best Buy.

The terms said they reserve the right blah blah blah to do whatever they want.

And by the way, they changed the rules RETROACTIVELY, not JUST going forward.

They changed the rules/terms like 9 or 10 hours after my purchase earlier, and said I had hit the limit, based on a new limit which didn't exist at the time of my order.
How much did you receive? Reseve the right blah blah blah is something any good lawyer would put in. They owe us nothing. I usually hate most things about Paypal but I think many in this thread abused it and I am going to side with Paypal on this one. People trying to max it out with gift card purchases is abuse. I would have liked to use the deal for 2 more purchases , in which the total back from those 2 legit transactions would be less than $100 but the abusers ruined it for everyone

After completing the paypal popup the best buy page should have updated and just had a "complete purchase" button or similar. Sounds like something glitched out on you. Have you checked your bestbuy order history to see if it is there?

If not, paypal should refund, but you're sort of screwed for this offer now.

I knew this deal would not last . The SD effect. And you can tell by the posts in this thread the abuse was out of hand.

I didnt want to buy the Meta 3 Refurb deal yet because I figured between now and CyberMonday there is going to be a better deal on a new one so I pulled the trigger but I pulled the trigger yesterday because I figured why chance it. Total cash back from the BNPL deal was $78. That is normal use, not abuse.

And I agree on both rules

So basically those who took the risk and made multiple purchases worth tens of thousands or thousands of dollars likely got an easy 20% back in points on them and get to keep them. So some people out there probably saved over a thousands bucks if they made multiple purchases close to the $1250 limit per transaction. Those are the real slickdealers right there Smilie I salute you all!
There was an overall spend limit of $5000 so max cb should have been $1000. But they also weren't capping at $250 as I have $286 points pending for a $1433 purchase. So who knows if it actually capped at $5k total spend. I spent $2155 across 2 purchases and have $431 pending.

damn seems like a bug, I thought it would be 20% up to $1250 and then 5% after.

I have a complicated question, lol. I canceled two orders (only ones I made) using 20% offer because the deals kept getting better and so technically I don't have any orders using 20% cashback.

Will I get it the offer back?

For individual cases, I would use the email receipt as a starting point, which in my case was
Wed, Nov 26 at 1:29 PM. Certainly a gray area, but certainly more work for anyone still trying to get points after email notification or changes on their rewards page. Even the initial offer had disclaimers but would think that any transactions that actually posted with points pending would have a legit argument. For others it would be an uphill fight, regardless of how legit the arguments might be.

Mine is even more grey since my purchase was made yesterday PST but today in my local EST. But I'm pretty sure I'm safe, it was long before the email came out 12 hours later.

Since it is still showing in my offers I might give it a shot if I see a good deal on something else I've been keeping an eye on, but not going to risk trying to pay taxes or anything else that carries a fee.

Anyone can tell how the partial refunds would take place with this Pi4 offer?

Basically, I am at this stage - my first payment has been made and the points shows up as Pending on the PP site.

What happens when a merchant issues the partial refund? Please advise.

I am trying to use this to buy an LG OLED monitor. Right now paypal has 22% cashback with LG. I tried to see if this had been answered, but does that 22% stack with the 20% pay later promo?

I used the offer yesterday to get the AOC OLED monitor at Best Buy (capital one had additional 26% cb for me). I am trying to decide if I should risk another purchase for a GPU at Walmart since I still have the offer still showing in the PayPal app. I wish this kind of stuff would tell you if the cash back was approved and just have you wait a few weeks after the return window to redeem.

same happened with me with a samsung order that will go back. they offered me 10% not to cancel, and that partial refund went back to to paypal and be applied towards the leftover payin4 balance as in it will decrease the balance still due.
