11/26/2025 10:28am PST Update: This is now limited to ONE transaction, with 20% rewards back up to $1,250. Paypal email memo notes that the promotion for spend on multiple transactions prior to the notification will be honored.
Walmart:
1) you have to make sure Paypal is not a saved method of payment in your wallet. If so, go into your account and remove it
2) When you are in checkout, uncheck the box that says Remember Paypal as a payment option.

For individual cases, I would use the email receipt as a starting point, which in my case was
Wed, Nov 26 at 1:29 PM. Certainly a gray area, but certainly more work for anyone still trying to get points after email notification or changes on their rewards page. Even the initial offer had disclaimers but would think that any transactions that actually posted with points pending would have a legit argument. For others it would be an uphill fight, regardless of how legit the arguments might be.

Since Chase Freedom has 5% cashback starting December 1st, you should be able to stack those two together, then pay the remaining payments early to milk the remainder of that cash back.

Nobody knows. People are just willing to gamble. If the points are pending then I'd assume even GC purchases will be fine when the points/cashback is finally available
