Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

for pay monthly, it says as low as 0% APR but when i clicked learn more, the calculator was not 0% apr and there was interest. if i select pay monthly then hit continue, do they then do the credit check and it can possibly be 0% apr depending on my credit and buying power?
When I used Pay Monthly, I went in and paid it off within hours on the same day. So, I'm expecting no interest because they said they don't charge interest until at least part of the order is completed by the vendor.

They supposedly do a check, but no inquires hard or soft showed on my Equifax.

My Pay Monthly disappeared for 8 days after an unusual activity message.

My Pay in 4 disappear 6 days ago after an unusual activity message and is yet to return.
So I got the same but not even close to supposed limit of 25000 points but still have pay monthly. Does pay monthly work?

Has anyone confirmed pending points for 'one more' actually came through? I made a single purchase before the email but wanted to make one more, my fear is the points on the second post-email purchase stay pending and then evaporate.
I have points pending for my purchase made yesterday after I got the email about the terms update, but my total points appear to be capped at the 25K (so 20% on $1,250). I made a ~$992 purchase a week ago which gave me ~19.9K points, and a $1,300 purchase yesterday that is now pending for ~5.1K points.

My purchase yesterday was from Home Depot, with part of it shipping and part of it store pickup. They split the charges, and PayPal only listed points pending on the lower charge. I was kind of upset about that, but I guess if I was only ever going to get 25K points, it doesn't matter. Interestingly, I do not have any pending points at the 5% this was supposed to revert to, but maybe that's only after the 20% period. Had I known, though, I would have waited a few days so I could get the 5% from Freedom.

I'm sure this will get lost in the noise but I purchased airline tickets for two people using this promo through United on November 20. When the transaction posted to Paypal, it was split into two charges of equal amounts (I assume due to two tickets). One transaction reflects 20% in pending points, the other does not. Someone else posted that they had the same issue and it's likely due to the same amounts being charged at the same time. I'm trying to get this fixed but not having much luck. I emailed the Paypal Rewards Support email and they finally replied today, saying they can't find any transactions under my email. This is not a Honey or whatever transaction so I'm not sure if the Paypal Rewards Support people will even be able to assist. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

The promotion terms changed and the promotion ends on 12/2 or if points run prior to that.

The 5% is not in any of the newer terms posted by PayPal

Folks, if you don't see the offer on your main page, try checking the "Your Featured Offers" section. That's where it popped up for me today. Ended up snagging a great discount on a new Sonos setup!

Yes, had used about $300 prior, and made a purchase for $950 about 10 hours after the email (and verified the app rewards page still showed the offer available and not marked complete). As soon as the order went through the reward got marked complete, and in just a couple minutes the points showed up as pending, capped at 25k across all the purchases.

Ah, yeah, you're right. I hadn't really paid enough attention to the new terms.

Check your account's reward activity. I see the same on my account for Target's Apple gift card promo -- one charge for $85 and another for $15, points pending only appear in the $15 portion. But when I view the $15 transaction's points pending it shows 2,000 points, and in my reward activity it shows 2,000 points pending for the transaction too. I guess it was easier for PayPal to only show "points pending" once instead of breaking it out for the 2 lines tied to the same transaction. (At least I hope that's what's happening.)

It's safe to assume you won't get any points for canceled orders or even parts of canceled ordered. That's happened to me.
This "parts of a canceled order" seems to have bit me. I had a $230 Target order that I canceled $20 of, and it still just shows points pending with no value unlike all of the other purchases, even though I've already received it. And in the individual transactions, the others have rewards associated but this one doesn't. Cost me $40. Frown I emailed support but not expecting success. And hopefully they don't claw back the later purchase I made yesterday worth a lot more!

Guys, with the new rules, does the $1250 transaction cap includes sales tax?
