11/26/2025 10:28am PST Update: This is now limited to ONE transaction, with 20% rewards back up to $1,250. Paypal email memo notes that the promotion for spend on multiple transactions prior to the notification will be honored.
Walmart:
1) you have to make sure Paypal is not a saved method of payment in your wallet. If so, go into your account and remove it
2) When you are in checkout, uncheck the box that says Remember Paypal as a payment option.

They supposedly do a check, but no inquires hard or soft showed on my Equifax.
My Pay in 4 disappear 6 days ago after an unusual activity message and is yet to return.
My purchase yesterday was from Home Depot, with part of it shipping and part of it store pickup. They split the charges, and PayPal only listed points pending on the lower charge. I was kind of upset about that, but I guess if I was only ever going to get 25K points, it doesn't matter. Interestingly, I do not have any pending points at the 5% this was supposed to revert to, but maybe that's only after the 20% period. Had I known, though, I would have waited a few days so I could get the 5% from Freedom.
