Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

As long as you made the previous one before Wednesday (Tuesday or earlier), then the one you just made should pay out, because 1 transaction is allowed since Wednesday morning under the new terms.
That is not the way the new terms read. The new terms state "The Offer allows Eligible Participants to earn PayPal Rewards Points ("Points") equivalent to 20% cash back on one Eligible Purchase during the Offer Period up to $1,250 spent. " Notice the offer period has not changed, it is still from October 6 to December 2.

So they are not saying you can make one purchase before the terms changed and one after, they are saying you are limited to one purchase total. What they are saying is if you made multiple ELIGIBLE purchases before the terms changed they will honor those.

In fact, the email that we all received, including myself, states "You've reached the limit on this offer given our new terms, which can be found here." And I only made one purchase. so they very clearly state that from when the new temrs start you are limited to one purchase total.

Just made 2 purchases and both show pending for 20%.
Can you see the number of points pending for both?

I have saved the Pay Later promotion in my PayPal account and can see it saved in my rewards tab but have not been able to see the option to checkout with Pay Later multiple marketplaces I've used while checking out with PayPal. (Best Buy, Walmart, Target). All I see are my credit card and checking accounts options and "PayPal Credit" when continuing the checkout page. Please somebody help

All right everyone, to clarify the only part that changed with the new terms is that you are limited to one purchase total of $1250. However, they will honor if you made more than one ELIGIBLE purchase before the terms changed.

This does not mean that you can make one additional purchase after the terms changed. It means if you made one or more purchases before the terms changed, you can not make any more. In fact, the email they sent out clearly states You've reached the limit on this offer given our new terms..."

Still to be determined is whether they will enforce the fact that gift cards are not an eligible purchase.

My purchase yesterday was from Home Depot, with part of it shipping and part of it store pickup. They split the charges, and PayPal only listed points pending on the lower charge.
I learned this lesson with Home Depot last year during US Bank's annual double CB promo. We placed 2 orders with 2 different USB CCs and had 4 charges. To make matters worse, 1 of the cards didn't trigger at all so we only got CB on 1 of 4 transactions.

We're going to see if this work. I saved the offer on my PC through the website. it does not show as a saved offer in my account on either the website or Paypal app. The offer also does not show up on my phone app before or after I saved the offer on the PC.

I bought a PC from Dell for $1600-ish. I did not get a Pay in 4 option, so I chose the Pay Monthly, although this came with a $70 financing charge, which I'll be on the hook for regardless of paying it off earlier.

I called Paypal and they confirmed the offer was saved to my account, and that the Pay Monthly was a part of Pay Later. I'll follow up when I get final confirmation of the 20%.

And this just shows that pending points are meaningless, since the new terms clealy state you can only get points for one purchase.

They can update terms and conditions on a webpage faster than they can update the backend code on their website to reflect those changes.
Anyways....
I tried to do this at BH Photo this morning. It failed repeatedly. First one was too high (over 1500), second one was also too high (800-ish). Third one was right under 500, and it was about to go through until I got some weird "page unable to load" error in my browser after I thought it was going to be approved. I tried it again a few minutes later and was rejected because "too many attempts" to do the pay in 4 offer that would net me 20% back.
Super frustrating. This is why people don't like PP.

Do you mean up to $1250? Or does it have to be $1250? If I make a $800 purchase, will I get 20% of it, a.k.a., $160?

Does Capital One actually track for you? They've burned me before so I don't trust their offers anymore.
Yes,, I just make sure I turn off all other trackers like (and especially) Slickdeals. I also just only use the one Chrome tab while I'm doing the shopping. I've gotten over $2,000 this past year from it.

This is so tempting. Anyone tried this? And how will we get the cashback? Like money back into bank account or paypal balance? Say we spend $500. So we get $100 cashback right away or what?

So when I did it pre-email, Pay in 4 no social security number required.
Now they are asking me for my social with pay monthly. Does that mean it wont work? I also have my credit frozen.

Yes that's the way it reads, but it is NOT how it has been implemented in practice. There are multiple data points here, including my own. Most people who had used it one or more times before the email were able to do one more purchase, and the points across ALL purchases got capped at 25k. But the points from the purchase after the email DO show up. Could they claw those back? Sure, but the fact that the promo is now marked completed, and it was now capped, I don't believe they will.
