Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Would this work for a brand new Paypal account? My wife wants to buy a $400 carpet extractor and I was thinking about making a new Paypal account for her so she can get the 20% back.

Anyone knows what will happen if there is a partial refund for the order? I ordered on 11/25 and the points went pending immediately, but just got a notification that the order total has changed and the refund of the difference would be processed back to the original payment method.
The terms of Pay Later say that any partial refunds come of of the outstanding balance, paying any accrued interest and late fees first (if any) and then applied to principal. It does no change the amount of your agreed payment. It will just make the last payment smaller or it will subtract principal from the end of the term, however one wants to look at it

The Original payment method was Pay in 4 or Pay Monthly it seems.

Open you PP account in the Home screen scroll to and click on Pay Later. Identify the transaction and click on it The "download documents" and read what it says about the terms

Here is cut from the terms for anyone curious
For those wanting to pay off early :

"You are unable to modify your Payment Schedule, but you can make an additional payment(s) in advance of your Due Date. You also may prepay your Loan in part or in full at any time without penalty."

How Payments are Applied

Any repayment made on your Loan plan will be applied in the following order:

Past due Monthly Payments, if any, starting with the oldest Late Payment and working forward to the most recent Late Payment;
Current Monthly Payment due, if any;
Unpaid principal balance.

Partial Refunds

If we receive a partial refund or any other credit from the merchant on your behalf, we will credit your Loan account by that amount. We also will credit the interest that accrued on that amount from the start of the Loan term until the refund was applied.

Your Monthly Payment amount will not be reduced due to a partial refund. A partial refund may reduce the number of remaining payments. Your final Monthly Payment amount may be reduced by a partial refund.

Sometimes the merchant does not provide us with enough information for us to identify a specific Loan account. If this happens, we will refund the amount we receive from the merchant to your linked PayPal Balance account or PayPal account. This means your Loan account will not be credited with the refunded amount or any interest that accrued on that amount. You will remain responsible for repaying this Loan.

I canceled a portion of an order I made, and it seems to have screwed me on the points. Still shows pending without a total like the others, but the original total counted toward my max discount, as my last purchase didn't get full points. Lost out on $40 in cash back. I emailed them but no response so far.

Maybe you lost them maybe not. Refunds and shit make the verification on PPs end tricky (not a person, at least not likely yet)and there may be some built in latency behind the reset of a pending reward

Then again maybe all refunds etc do require a person to review. That would slow things down

good luck

Sorry if it's been asked, lazy to scanning thru 250 pages. $1250 spent is pre-tax or post-tax?

What if the total transaction amount including taxes is higher than $1250? I am trying to use it on Lenovo's site and the transaction value is near $1400.

They won't process Pay in 4 over 1250, so it can't happen

Allegedly

Maybe. But also on the individual transactions, the others that worked showed the rewards linked, but this one doesn't have anything at all, which seems to indicate its not associated with a reward.

No, just once. The first few days it worked for multiple but not anymore.

If they take it and you saved it and the terms are met then Yes, it's supposed to be valid

Keep it under $1250

If you get denied you'll likely lose it
