Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Wow that's news to everyone! Especially the past 10 pages of people talking about the deadline being yesterday. 😉

I bought a $200 Amazon gift card at Best Buy last week, the paypal option ' pay in 4 ' payments popped right up , I was approved instantly and on the paypal site they even showed they had automatically made the first $50 payment from my bank account. But the points remained pending for days . Then yesterday I see Paypal is refunding my $50 payment because Best buy cancelled the purchase. ???

My $850 BB GC order was cancelled by BB within an hour of placing it. Now the PP app says that I have completed my 4 of 4 payments of that $850 purchase and my points are still pending. So who knows, maybe we still get to keep those points?!?

My interesting data point:
Placed three separate orders (two on Nov 21, one on Nov 23) prior to the rule change for regular, non-gift card items. All orders used the "Pay in 4" option and points were visible as pending immediately in Paypal after each order.

Made a full return of one order on Nov 25, correctly received the refund of the first payment from Paypal, and the "Pay in 4" status shows as 4/4 complete. Pending points on the original activity remained visible the entire time and the points on both Nov 21 orders became redeemable today so I just cashed them out.

TL;DR: Points from a returned order processed for me and became redeemable within 12 days of the original order date.

It says in the terms promotion will end on the 2nd instead if the max rewards are reached, basically people were abusing it early when there was no limit, they ran out of funds

They changed it from the 8th to the 2nd for some reason, yes, but people abusing doesn't really factor in much at all because pretty much everyone who posted that they had done multiple $1250+ purchases where they were expecting to get more than the $250 in rewards are now seeing that they are being limited only to $250 total anyway. Based on various DPs people have posted so far.

Is there a possibility that the points you received were due to the Nov 23 purchase (even though as you said they showed on the Nov 21 purchases)? In other words I wonder if the only reason the points didn't "fall off" was because you had the Nov 23 purchase that kept the points afloat. But if that later purchase was for a smaller amount or for less than what became redeemable then that's pretty good news.

Despite it expired earlier than expected, have you tried making an order and see if you still get the points?

Took a gamble on buying all Amazon gift cards.

Finally received all my points a total of 50K points which will then be put back into my PayPal accounts to finish off paying the remaining payments.

Thanks OP!

Did everyone who got the points confirmed and back pay the 4 payments in advance or has anyone who hasn't paid the full amount (paying in installments) get points confirmed too.

I saw some posts of people saying they got the points after only the 1st payment posted. In other words without paying any of the remaining 3 installments in advance.
