Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

I got screwed over by Paypal changing their promo...
I happened to make a purchase on Nov 26th, the day they limited it to one purchase and that was my one use. Though this may have been true, but the offer was still showing as available with no indication that it had been used after that purchase.

I made a large purchase on Dec 1st and even on that day the saved offer was still showing in my account. Called Paypal today as I had not seen in any indication of being credited with the 20% cash back. They basically told me that I had used it on the Nov 26th purchase and that was it. Even explaining that it was showing as available to me and not being used on my Dec 1st purchase...they just told me sorry...nothing they can do about it...
The reward showing doesn't mean it's available. You had to open the reward. It would either say "saved" or "completed". Even after being completed, the reward still shows, but it means you already completed it.

Thanks!
I see the question was answered.

Just an FYI follow up

Be sure you look at any Pay Later agreement you made in your PP account and see what days you are scheduled to pay.

See what method of payment you have assigned and that it is a valid or funded method.

.e.g as has been discussed Chase payment cards are a no go.

The two safest ways are to assign payment from linked bank account OR pay the pay off amount and be done with it

Who knows? Some people cashed out rewards they got for canceled orders and no data point about claw backs yet.

I placed 2 separate orders on 11/21 and 11/25 . Points have already been sent and redeemed for the 25th order. 11/21 still not showing any points at all, not even as pending on the activity page. Oddly, it says I have points pending only on the app rewards page. One CS rep said I needed to email the rewards email address, which I still havent heard back from. Another rep said I need to wait 14 business days (12/15) before the points show up. I doubt I'll be getting those points.

I had two canceled orders from Nov 21. They were canceled immediately by Walmart. They still show pending under Pay Later on my Paypal home page, but they no longer say "points pending" like in the days following that immediate cancellation. They also don't show at all under rewards.

Has anyone made a purchase to Home Depot and paid with Paypal and made a return?

Home Depot seems to be giving me the runaround saying that since it was paid with Paypal, that I'd have to go to the physical store in order to get a proper refund (it's not showing up on Paypal). I initially thought it was on Paypal's side with this 'Pay in 4' business that was delaying the refund amount.

thats not reality
It was reality for me. It may display more than 25000 points for each pending transaction, but when the pending changes to completed, it doesn't mean you will get over 25000 points per transaction.

Ordered 12/2 (one order, 2 items), paid off the order on 12/10, received points either today 12/13 or yesterday 12/12 (don't remember if I checked yesterday). Interesting that when I go to Rewards Activity, it shows PayPal Balance 25000 points on Dec 14 - which is tomorrow's date in my time zone. Not sure what that means lol
