Doesn't support UHS-ii which is the only interface among the cards its supports that would need more than usb2 speed so it seems like this is no different than a usb2 card reader

yes this is why i went with an official sandisk pro image reader. 10 bucks more on ebay

regular readers will take 17 hours vs 2.5-3 hours to transfer 700GB data

USB 2.0 maxes out at about 30 MB/s.

I regularly get about 70 MB/s reads in my Lexar card reader from UHS-I cards -- USB 3 there makes a big difference, though UHS-II should be way faster than that.
