Google Now used to do that about 11 years ago. It would also learn your habits and give you estimated driving times to your next destination when you were about to leave work etc. Some of the stuff it did was borderline creepy, but it was so damn useful. Most of those features are gone at this point.

But Google find network should be much larger than Samsung. This has uwb as well, so not sure what extra feature smarttag2 might have.
I just read a little... and gave you what I think.

Do some of your own research... ask chatgpt.

But I just purchased 5 of them.

Have a set of 4. Battery life is a year & have replaced them once. I purchased before UWB was enabled, now they work very well with it. Battery life is 1 year using standard batteries. Selling points are the UWB and airtag compatible form factor. If you're putting them in/on cars or equipment I'd recommend the elevation labs battery case https://www.amazon.com/Elevation-...ar-Battery which allows you to use AA lithium batteries. I find that UWB is very useful once you put the tag in a case as the volume on these is not the loudest so it makes it challenging to find by ear. I bought elevations labs airtag cases: keys: https://www.amazon.com/TagVault-W...B09D8NSQW1, wallet https://www.amazon.com/TagVaultTM...B09GTM8FHN and fabric holder (for luggage and bags) https://www.amazon.com/Elevation-...B0B8F6WY94 and can say the elevation labs stuff works well.

Do you always remember to drop a pin every time you park? Why can't Google do that automatically when you park the car?
This was once a feature, I think they got rid of it at some point though.

I have 1 of these and 3X tiles. Personally I like these more the only gripe I have with this is the speaker is not loud enough. If I do find my device and it's in my winter jacket I can't hear the ringing going off, Other than that it's been rock solid I prefer these over my tile

Do you have any feel for if the moto tags work better than any other tags that are also on Android? I only have these generic tags, so I can't tell if when they are far away, if they're just not within hearing distance of other enabled Android phones or not.

At home, they seem to update very frequently because it's near my phone.

they worked well enough on my last trip that I saw they were on the plane with me and what not. so they are pinging against other phones.

Other than the UWB feature, the Moto tags are probably no better and no worse than other android tags.

Over the long run, I expect Tiles to die off unless they become compatible with either the Apple or Google networks. Tile had/has a decent user base because they were first to market, but they are going to be like Betamax in a Netflix world. I've got a Tile card in my wallet, but I will replace it with something else when the battery dies in the next year or so.

Also, in my opinion, most items that would benefit from UWB will be "lost" in your home or your office. For larger items like luggage/bikes/cars/etc, UWB won't help since they will almost certainly be out of range. That's where the larger networks become important.

the network would theoretically be bigger... given smart tags can only be found by Samsung phones.
that being said the network is not as big as apples which does have an upper leg here.
This is now an obsolete thought and misinformation. It depends on where you're using these devices. If you use these for travel abroad, then you have to consider this: Any Android device that has Bluetooth and has Android OS 6 or above (Android OS 6 and later versions account for approximately 73.9% of the global Android market share) and Android OS holds a significant global market share of approximately 72.55% in the mobile operating system market as of 2025.

If you look at the number of devices (phones) that support Google Find Hub, then you have a colossally bigger network globally. It dwarfs the Apple's FindMy market.

In the US, Apple's market is a bit bigger around 58% and Android is 42% according to 2025 data but the trend is that it's evening out especially with the latest Google devices. But still wouldn't assume the FindMy network is that much more massive than the FindHub network.

Hot take though: the OG (2004) Moto Razr was the best phone ever

Weird take to say misinformation when numbers on market share dont equate to the actual settings users have on their phones to support the network. The roll out of Find Hub was a disaster and these devices were useless for months. It seems better now but not sure how the above stats are super meaningful to this product except in some perfect world.

Regardless the Apple Tags are so limited unless you are fully in the ecosystem it's hard to cross shop the two anyways.

The biggest pro Samsung has over Moto (and Google Find in general) is that Samsung has location history and Moto/Google Find does not. The ringer is also a bit louder on Samsung. BTW any Android can run Samsung tags with the app uTag. I use them with my Pixel.

Exactly, I've been using Chipolo and Pebblebee tags/wallet with Google Find Hub. The Bluetooth signal strength indicator in the app can help you get close to misplaced item, or as you said I just turn on the beeping noise, which lets me find what I'm looking for fast.

Never hurts to have extra features but UWB strikes me more as a nice to have not a must have feature. Overall Google Find Hub has improved dramatically and I've been happy with the Chipolo and Pebblebee tags.

Lastly Find Hub support is in every Android phone including Samsung, so in theory you should have better tracking support than Apple. My only complaint with Google Find Hub services is that unlike Apple it does not yet support automatic notifications or alerts to tell you if you've left an item behind.

If I didn't already have enough tracking tags I'd grab these, though I don't think the pricing is great if you have to pay for shipping, which is showing me as $20. That seems rather high for a shipping cost.

But like someone else mentioned you can throw in an extra tag for $19.99 and get free shipping, so that's a no brainer.
Expedited shipping is $20. Standard is $5. Free shipping if you spend $99.
