For everyday plates, they are wonderful. Not meant to be used for fancy dinners. Each piece is about $2.25.

These are the perfect dishes. Reasonably priced. Not nearly as heavy as stoneware. Stack compactly. Dishwasher and microwave safe. Don't chip or break easily. If you don't break them, they will outlive you. They have been making this color and style for at least 40 years, probably more, so you can get replacements as needed. White dishes are the best because they match everything, if you want color you can use colored napkins or tablecloths.

Unfortunately they are not indestructible and if you drop them on a very hard surface, like tile or a stone countertop, they tend to shatter with pieces flying everywhere. That is not fun to clean up.

For everyday dinnerware I like IKEA Oftast plates and bowls. They're $1 each, so this set could be assembled for $16.

Yours are not shatterproof. When they break they make so many small sharp particles they are dangerous, especially if you have pets/kids in the house. I'll stick with Corelle, they are beyond durable and if they break (in the most extreme situation) they don't shatter into little shards.

Corelle dishes are not shatterproof. All dishes break, so these plain dishes aren't worth 2.5x the price.

They are very hard to break in general and if they do break, they are in large pieces, easy to pick up and throw out. Not into little shards that make them very dangerous to walk on by accident.

Rats. The Corelle service for 4 I am looking for are dinner plates, lunch plates, appetizer plates and bowls. Not 2 sizes of bowls.

Both were TESTED and they are similar, so you are WRONG. In fact, it was the CORELLE that shattered into splinters and NOT the Ikea brand. See, that is what happens when you make assumptions or basically fabricate a narrative based on nothing actually real or true. You probably assumed it was better due to the branding.

Been using Corelle dishes for years, never had that issue, ever.
