About Nanoleaf:

Nanoleaf was founded in 2012 by engineers from the University of Toronto and now has offices around the world, including Toronto, Shenzhen, and Paris.

This product also supports the Matter smart home standard, which helps it work across different smart home systems.

Govee has a bit higher light density at least the outdoor 2 lights at 0.72/ft vs these at 0.6/ft but the govee is 3x the cost when not on sale. Funny enough the more expensive govee pro set has the same density. The nanoleaf seems to have a 50lm brightness vs govee light 2 has 40lm although they list that for specifically the white with govee (its probably white for both max brightness). I would be most concerned by the app for control when it comes to these things. I have no idea about the nanoleaf app but the govee one is ok.

They seem fairly comparable to the govee lights at a way lower price.

edit: the pro has 60lm brightness for govee.

How does one cut these things to the proper length and run power to new runs on separate rooflines?

The Govee kit includes some spacing lines where there's no lights and you can connect to the next section. I watched a YouTube video that shows you can splice in 18 gauge wire as well (this video was specific to the Govee 2, I would assume it's similar for all of these kits)

I read that you cant individually change each led. Going back a year I see Nano leaf says that its coming but it looks like that option is not available. So you can choose which color each led is. You cant turn off a couple lights and only leave a few on for non holidays. With the amount of work it takes to hang these on a 2 story house...

Can anyone confirm this?

After doing some research, these appear to have solid performance. Less privacy issues as these allow local control. (Govee run on cloud based in China). Doesnt need separate hub like Philip if you own a major one already. In for 3!

I have both Govee and nanoleaf systems. I'd say nanoleaf is far better quality with more community support within the app. You can easily and quickly download someone else's created light designs. I also like that it's HomeKit compatible.

Nanoleaf is typically much more expensive, but with this discount I'd say it's a very good deal.
