For 3D printer newbies. You need NOTHING else from Bambu labs. You can buy way cheaper filaments from Aliexpress with the comparable quality. I would recommend getting a 10 pack multi-color filaments liket his deal which should cost you ~$6 per 1Kg.

My son had been begging us to get him a 3d printer. Went from $200 A1 mini from his own pocket to dad jumping in on this action 😅. Let the random printing begin

A couple recommended items for new 3D print users.

3D model burr cleanup tool set and hotend cleaner:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CS6MLCWK

Jewelers pliers set for cleaning up models and removing supports.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PZ58BWJ

Air tight (waterproof) sealed container drybox for filament storage:
https://www.menards.com/main/stor...-12667.htm

Rechargeable Eva-Dry Dessicant for drybox:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Eva-D.../202847325

PETG is more durable than using PLA but also absorbs moisture more quickly. Most filaments recommend drying before printing. Once the filament is dry you can store filament in a drybox and you don't have to dry it again for the next printing.

This would be my first printer too, please recommend filaments Smilie
Buy PLA for a little easier printing or buy PETG for stronger plastic that has a higher melting temp - better for outside use, etc. My fav is the silk prints (some peeps dislike it) but here is a combo sale - can't speak to quality because I haven't used this brand before. https://slickdeals.net/f/18794437

Ugh. I caved too early on the P1S...now I am having regrets. Was expecting the price to be a lot higher.
Same here, but so far UNpaid reviews havent indicated it's a home run where we should have total regret. But yeah I thought it was gonna be 8-900.
Now if they'd ship the damn 4-pin data cable.

Is this worth the $200 difference from the p1s with the AMS2?
Since both include the AMS2, yes.

For other folks —- if you just bought a P1S from their site like myself and others, consider a few things to ease the regret:

1. You cant return it now. It's way too late for that, in fact it became too late the instant they generated your shipping labels.
2. You're in the hole 100 bucks just to return it, and that's assuming it's unused
3. You're not returning it used
4. Print quality is still the same.

He's wrong. I've used it many times and these transactions were not treated as cash advance

Yeah. The main thing I want is the screen (which I know isn't all that necessary from what I read). Plus the easy swap of the nozzles, etc.

I am picking up the P1S tomorrow, so it's still sealed, so the thought crosses my mind of selling it locally at a slight loss and grab the P2S with the 20% back from Paypal to help make-up for the loss

Wait when you say pick up……from where? A store? If so, just cancel. If a shipper, yeah thats different and theyre gonna hit you on return shipping fees.

Also, realistically how often are you gonna need the screen beyond basic info? There's the Panda screen though most folks indicate they dont even end up using it. I'll be first to admit, the screen looks great and is flashy/catchy, but that's it. The printer is the magic.

Shipper. I had it held at a FedEx location as I wasn't going to be home on delivery.

And yeah, I'll kind of see how the reviews go as people continue to get them in hand. Hopefully can find some legit reviewers. I still would like to just go ahead and get the newer one, especially if I can lose less than return shipping.

Stupid? Probably, but did get 5% back on the P1S and can get 20% back on this. Only reason it's tempting me more.

I was literally ready to click "Order" on the P1S deal last night, so glad I waited an extra day! Going from an Ender 3 to this is going to be awesome, thanks for the heads-up on the deal!

Is the "Pay in 4" option the "pay later" option? I just see "Pay in full" "Pay in 4" and "PayPal credit card" options.

I heard recently Bambu has been locking down their software or hardware or something like that. Anyone has the info on that?

OK awesome. I am going to try it then. Thank you.
Were you able to confirm that you got the 20% discount (albeit max $249). I'm also looking an ordering a H2S.
