The AW3423DWF is a glossy 34 inch QD OLED ultrawide that stands out for gaming, with vivid colors, strong immersion, and a 165Hz panel that feels like a major upgrade over older LCD ultrawides. Dell's 3 year burn in warranty and generally better warranty coverage are recurring advantages, and the sale price around $500 makes it look especially strong value. The main tradeoffs are OLED upkeep, possible text fringing, and a very forward stand that may need a deep desk or arm mount. Some units also arrive with joystick, coating, cable, or faint whine issues, so it suits gamers who can live with OLED quirks.

Does this apply? The monitor is $499.99 so its not $500. Do they include tax? Some of these deals do not include tax.

It includes tax as far as I know. Other Amex offers worked with tax. As long as the final price meets the offer amount.

Does anyone know why 10bit color option in settings goes away when I set to 165hz in Nvidia Settings? I upgraded to a higher end display port cable that is perfectly capable and it only shows up with 60hz. I can't seem to figure it out. I don't know if its a hardware limitation with the monitor or my RTX 4070 card but I had the $700 LG Ultragear 34" that was working fine at 10 bit color. I returned it to Best Buy to get this one for $200 less for very close to the same experience.

I am about to pull the trigger on the 45" LG after seeing it in person at Best Buy. It just seems so incredibly impressive. This Alienware is a great value at $500 and the smart buy. $400 more is quite a leap for the size increase.

Seems like it's something you need to do manually: https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawid..._at_165hz/

I bought this for $640 after cash back in November 2023. Single best upgrade I've ever made to my PC - playing Baldur's Gate 3 and Expedition 33 on this was incredible. You do have to do some manual maintenance (pixel refresh) but for me it's been no trouble.Worth mentioning that I don't use this for work or personal productivity, my desktop PC is exclusively for gaming.
You realized there are sites that keep track of price history correct

You'll get 3 year burn in warranty new. Something to consider. If you have AMEX deal and price match with Amazon on Dell's site it should bring it down to $450ish
It had warranty till 2028 lol i pulled the trigger

This or the samsung odyssey g8 ?
Definitely Samsung - if you enjoy receiving a broken product and then go through nine Circles of Hell trying to get it returned.

I just purchased this monitor (on my phone with the PP app), I checked and am seeing "Pending points" listed with this "Pay in 4" purchase. So it looks like ~$100 off from that when using the "Pay in 4" on PayPal (not 100% sure if you have to use the app to take advantage of this).

I don't have an Amex card in PP, but if you did... maybe you can double dip with the Amex $100 and PP 20% off. Since the Amex is a statement credit, the monitor might be $300 and change if you can take advantage of it!

This panel doesn't do 10bit at 165hz. You'd have to set a custom refresh lower than 165 to do it. It's a downside but seriously not that noticable for day to day stuff. I however ended up returning this because of Dells horrible customer service and QA...2/2 had issues out of the box.

Is this monitor not good for productivity?
I can't speak for OP but OLED's with high refresh rates are not typically for productivity. I think some gamers use them for both as a "sacrifice". 34 inches that is below 4k may not be the best for staring at small text for long hours 😄
