Deal History
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
Company isn't the easiest to deal with if you need to warranty anything. They will eventually replace your item but it will take weeks and come from China.
SD price graph shows a constant $160 price, but camelcamelcamel shows the price has occasionally hit the listed $250 original price. Not as big a sale as you might think, but certainly better than the completely fake sale the SD price graph implies.
Just because they both are based on flash memory does not make them equal. SSDs generate much more heat and will fail prematurely if left in a hot car all the time. lol

The mods keep pushing this, but $160 for the basic 2 channel dash cam that doesnt include an SD card, so add $50 (they require a high endurance expensive one) or parking mode kit (another $20). So, $230+ tax.
I believe it is not worth it. They are riding on their name recognition and pushing these at an inflated price
Yeah it's crazy to me that, with how long dashcams have been a thing, so many of them are still hot garbage. My hunch is that the vast majority of us just want a black box that doesn't make sounds, talk to us, or do anything but record on a loop so we have evidence in case of a crash. That they can fail (and fail silently, in my experience) at this basic function is frustrating.
I've been waiting to get a dash cam and literally feel like if I ever get one it will be, "hot garbage". Are there confirmed good ones that are easy-ish to setup? Some people are saying this one is good and some are saying its bad. Seems that way for the "best" dashcams.

I got two of the A119 minis and it was super easy to set up. Provided USB cable was long enough for me to snake around my upper trim and into my USB port for my Crosstrek. I downloaded their app and it was easy enough to connect and save videos. Picture seems better than my garmins. I'm capturing at the highest resolution as I had a 128 gb mSD card I popped over from my previous cameras.
I'm moving over from my two garmin minis that went on the fritz right outside of my warranty period, started having a green hue covering all of the videos for my front camera. Couldn't get it to fix, so figured the sensor went out. Decided to jump on the minis and they've been working fine for me
I believe you set it up on an internal recording loop, overriding the old data once it reaches capacity. At least that is my assumption after I got mine set up. Once you access it on the app, I can review previous videos. Just got them this week, so still playing around.
I have the Mini in my spare vehicle, works good but I can't figure out one annoying feature. I have sensitivity set to the lowest settings, but it will randomly alert me that it's saving a recording because it thinks I hit something. Can hit a big pothole and have no alert, but then run over an acorn and it thinks I drove off a cliff.
I have this issue as well. Is it specific to the Mini or are people getting it on all versions? Wondering if I should get the higher model. Let me know.

Driving my spare truck today to grab our Christmas tree, it did it again today as I pulled into a parking lot, didn't hit anything to activate it.... Definitely annoying

Disregard I see you have the Mini.

I purchased (a year ago / full price) - VIOFO A329S - Front/Rear and had it installed (2024 WRX TR). I really like this system, but I, too, have the same issues with false recordings or images, and I agree it's based on the voice commands and on saying something in the car that triggers the image. Easy to connect to your iPhone/Android at any time and just reformat the SSD. Recordings are clear... I also added the VIOFO HK4 Hardwire Kit.
I got the 229 plus a few months ago and it works great most of the time. but every once in a while it'll tell my microsd data is corrupted and ill have to format it. This is after purchasing a microsd card that they recommended.
I was trying to find a suitable replacement for my 12 year old FInevue CR-500HD which is still going strong with an extrernal battery. Basically looking for something with a built in GPS and equally reliable. The latest iteration of this cam feel short on both accounts.
The A329 2CH is half baked tech not ready for practical use. Purchased and returned due to so many issues. One of the reasons was the ability to uses SSD. I plugged a compatible 1 TB SSD using their USB cable and it kept failing most of the time. Had to set the p[ath each time, it worked and then it did not.
Wifi Connection was an iffy too. With AA and CarPlay, its like pulling teeth. The worst part, the cam shut off due to heat and we are not even in summer. Tech support indicated it was the expected behavior and we are heading into winter, imaging the state in summer, especially in teh Southern states.
Last year had tried the A229 and it would just skip recordings. The files were just not there and you wouldn't know unless you looked.
So, if you ever need teh footage, you have no way of knowing if its there. Their customer service is a joke.
No point of all the snazzy stuff, if the cam fails at the most basic function it is designed for. Looks like will have to go to one of the Korean Cams.Pricey, but reliable.
